After days of the strait of hormuz being closed and no victory in sight for the americans, oil prices are beginning to skyrocket

If an extra 10% at the gas pump is making or breaking your budget you should probably be doing something more productive with your time than posting on 4chan.

Based, maybe my oil future call options will 100x

>an extra 10% at the gas pump
Diesel is already up 28%. Gas roughly 35%.
>>
>>530040455
People are still buying Q2 futures @ $76 pbl so there is a market expectation that this wont keep up.
>>
>>530040455
The price rises are still based on speculation. Real shortages haven't shown up yet. The Persian Gulf is the beginning of the supply chain. That oil has to work it's way through days and weeks of processing before it shows up for end-user consumption. That's when the real shortages will show up.

We need a graph of how long oil takes to reach various endpoints after leaving the Persian Gulf. Such a graph will show when the real physical shortages, not just speculation about such shortages, will start to appear.

My futures (bought last monday) have a strike-price of $117.50.
That will be hit pretty soon.

Oil will probably continue to climb in price since there's a WAR and also part of Iran's strategy was punishing everyone hosting the USA which is a legitimate strategy. Just do what economists hate and buy gas now.

It will never meaningfully come down at the pump again either, even when the crisis goes away

I'm tired boss

23%, and it's been less than a week.
>>
>>530040989
The problem isnt refinement its getting the crude tankers through the straight. The fuel is ready. There arent shortages due to production.
>>
>>530041065
I mean obviously in the immediate term things are going to spike.
>>

Bessent has already resorted to begging China to buy oil from the US.
Which China won't do unless it's SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than Russian oil.
>>
>>530041244
It's so funny to talk to Americans. Absolute subhuman retards. I hope they get what they deserve. They'll keep trying to talk their way out of it with illogical rambling, but their hungry bellies won't listen.

Plus oil was already underpriced before

US only gets 2% of its oil from hormuz

https://13wham.com/news/nation-world/fact-check-team-strait-of-hormuz-risks-explained-us-gears-up-to-protect-shipping-iran-israel-strikes-middle-east-oil-gas-gulf

70% of imported US oil comes from Canada. Iran has no way to seriously effect US oil prices anymore. Hormuz clusterfuck just hurts Iran/China/Arabs
>>
>>530040797
>Its a small price to pay for Israel goy

>>530041405
When people (from other countries) are pointing some problems in your country, usually the response are trying to be smug and saying america is superior ect, ect. Basically indian super power complex.
>>
>>530041711
Yes well supply chain disruptions always have knock-on effects. Restricting supply of oil in one region will shift that demand to seek it elsewhere on the planet.

Hey retard, China is the main manufacturer of the planet, we all rely on global economies now
>>
>>530041844
Nothing the US gets from China goes anywhere near Iran

And China will just buy somewhere else, it's not going to sink its own economy for solidarity with Iran
>>
>>530041711
>retard's first introduction to commodity markets
Oil prices are global. The difference in different areas is due to shipping costs.
There is no arbitrage in oil.
>>
>>530041904
You dont even understand how economies work, their oil comes from Hormuz, the entire economy is impacted by an increase in oil prices
Sure, they have oil reserves and renewable energy sources, but it will have an impact and also give them an excuse to sell at higher prices
>>
>>530041711
Bitch where the fuck do you think the US imports all its goods from? Those planes and boats dont come when oil goes up too much.
>>
>>530041711
and you think canada will just keep giving you their oil for the old price when the chinks are willing to offer more to make up for their shortages?
