The two countries paint each other as enemies to build weapons stockpiles and to compete with each other. It never actually materializes into a war because the possibility of having a war itself is profitable and the real goal. Take for instance how the U.S. and Europe relinquished power it had in Africa over to China. This allows China to profit from mining and resources in Africa and those resources are then turned over to countries like Taiwan to make computer chips. The west designs those chips, Taiwan builds them, and the Chinese provide the materials. If the U.S. was really concerned about China, wouldn't they develop their own chips, and develop their own mines to get the materials needed to make them? Then you have things like food and medicine. China gets a lot of it's food from other countries and and the west gets most of it's medicine from China. Again, if we are so concerned about China, why do we depend on them so much for medicines that millions of people need?It's all fake and gay.

But many mines become environment catastrophes, and in the USA you have to pay a literal catastrophe bond to the tune of millions before you even open a mine in some places.
