The only way this would work, you could take that 6 million and pay 6 Canadians a million bucks each to come. Tourism won’t recover for at least a generation. The problem with Vegas is that it’s too expensive and not fun. There used to be a time where you could party in the casinos and get a big suite for cheap and all the girls working there were hot. Now it’s really expensive and all the girls busted. There’s better nightlife in Scottsdale for fuck’s sake. You can’t even do drugs or buy hookers there anymore. It’s easier to get an escort in Miami than it is in Vegas. So what’s the draw? Why go? It makes no sense.

I used to go to Vegas 2-3 times a year, usually for a convention and then a couple leave-the-wives behind blowouts with old friends. Last time US customs were just assholes. They see my travel history. Had a nexus card. But they pull my phone and make me unlock it, demand my prints and photo entered into another DHS system; asked a half dozen times if I was going to work … on a three day trip to Vegas .. and warned/threaten not to; my buddy had 8k in cash (10k is the limit) because he wanted to hit the tables and not worry about exchange, and they hauled him to interview why he was carrying so much case, and if he deals drugs and threatened to test him. It was mall cop Nazi shit. Also: It’s just not worth it any more. Vegas was always going to suck you dry of cash, feeling guilty, but also always left you feeling it was worth it; you get comped, service wants you to have a good time. Thats all changed. Spend 5k on a dinner and they don’t even comp dessert; 10k on VIP bottle service and they’re sliding in extra charges for ice and mixers you didn’t order and the girls barely even smile. The nickel and dime complaints are completely true; not just if you’re trying to do Vegas cheap, but if you are spending decent cash. They’re all chasing whales these days. Honestly, fuck Vegas and America. And stay down there, you’re not welcome here either.
