Can someone redpill me on ASMR? Are there any theories on its origin? While it does seems calming, I've noticed it's also addicted and just makes me lethargic and passive. I can literally spend half a day just listening to ASMR doing nothing, which makes me think it might be some sort of kike psy-op

Jew conspiracy to brainwash you into liking sex with females.
>>
I find it incredibly irritating. Everyone I've personally known who enjoys it is one bad day away from trooning out, which I don't think is a coincidence

I liked the novelty when stuff like the barbershop recording came out. Was cool to see how you felt a phantom haircut going on. Then it quickly turned into a slop mill for camgirls too lazy to take their clothes off. Fucking simps are a cancer to any audience they join.

That’s called depression bro, get out of bed and talk to someone.

Let me preface this with I have listened to asmr videos since before asmr was a concept on YouTube over 15 years ago. I have watched the various phases of asmr and still listen to videos although not as often. Even since I was a kid the sensations such as others cutting your hair or whispering in an ear gave me chills on my neck.
Modern asmr definitely is majority coomer bait, softcore erotica or advertising for lewd paid content. The core idea of asmr was perverted probably 10 years ago when ewhores figured out what it was. Asmr I purely listened to when I was a teenager because it simulated personal affection. I was khv throughout high school and college with an awful family so asmr was an escape to pretend to have people that cared for me. This was the core demographic of asmr and why ewhores preyed upon them. The idea being older ones could paypig through lewd content.
This idea has been exasperated when there was a large amount of people isolated during covid or in recent years with social outings being rare leading to overpaid people able to pick one ewhore to moneybomb in hopes of getting a gf. And the whores know this so some of them do a whole bit and get 10k+ monthly from a few people trying to compete with each other. But that rant is straying too far from the idea of asmr.
I still enjoy some asmr channels although there are only 2 good irl ones anymore, most of the other good ones moved to being vtubers or just a still image. It can be a useful relation or escapism tool but either I have grown jaded enough to cope or the effect has faded on me and I just listen to it while working on digital task like monthly budget spending spreadsheet work.
Yet another digital hobby which women ruined. Although women were the cutting edge of asmr when it first started on YouTube, they also were its downfall. Maybe asmr is a parallel to society where it cannot exist without women but also will be destroyed by women.

"ASMR" has existed for a long fucking time. Cam girls and simp faggots ruin everything, I just want something to fall asleep too every now and then and I can't talk about glass music, which has been a thing for centuries, without coming off as some perverted incel because now it's associated with ASMR.

Most ASMR just annoys me. That whispering crap a lot of them do and that excessive tapping. I like boring stuff like the sound of rain, flowing rivers, or breezy meadows.
>>
It would be amazing to objectively understand how to trigger it in an individual capable, and how much variance there is to what stimulus does so. Imagine Ambient or Drone music such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=own7J795G9g but it consistently triggers asmr; Audio Drugs. As for me, I've noticed the range of things that triggers me is elevated when I'm cold, it's not more potent just frequent, which I guess kind of relates it to similar sensations arising from various parts of the body when cold, even without audio, which I think is related to sensing circulation since it tends to occur where fabric or skin is taut. I'd be curious to hear how people perceive it varies based off audio levels, do you feel it more when volume is higher or lower?

But do you get tingles?

Yeah, roleplay or dialogue that overtly appeases to social desires or attempts to outwardly or over intentionally create a "positive environment" definitely ruins it. At worst it presumes insecurity in all like some hippy therapy session, and consequently gives air to things that shouldn't, at best it's over intentional and makes it stiff, i.e the opposite of relaxing. I'm also convinced that it brought people who don't actually experience the physical sensation and conflate it with warm feefees, such that many of the people who make them don't even sense the same thing. In fairness there is a similar sensation derived when watching scenes in fiction that either personally resonate or having some grandeur to them, but I can't imagine getting that from pamper-therapy sessions.

Personally, I blame MassageASMR. Although his No Talking Vids were in a tier of his own for a time, so I'll forgive him.

if it isn’t industrial noises i dont want to know about it.
>>
>>530093653
it's good for relaxing and falling asleep to. everyone is different to which faggoty triggers they enjoy.

this. was the only time it was nice to watch jeets and turks

>might be some sort of kike psy-op
We live in a world where MK Ultra literally happened and you still have to ask if femboy brainwashing is bad for you?
>>
>>530098057
Yeah but if they try to make ASMR it won't be ASMR, it will be irritating.
It has to be coincidental and unplanned, like Dubay's 200 proofs or that old dude reading a boring book, it was deemed the best ASMR in the comments, forgot which book/video was it.
>>
Believe it or not, Hillary Clinton, back when she was an Arkansas governor's wife, adopted a Southern Belle ASMR accent and tone. Compare that to her shrill screechy jew yawk accent today.
>>
It's a genuine thing (likely stems from some residual feeling of being groomed/otherwise cared for by other primates) that took off in the 2010's when people finally gave it a proper name and identified it as a thing instead of a vague notion unshared between us. Of course with the commoditization of the internet it was almost immediately invaded by retarded people, mostly women, who do these performative videos for the sake of money and attention.

It DOES make you feel lethargic and sleepy, that's why many people use it as a sleep aid. I imagine mentally it's affecting you the same way a massage or your mother telling you a bedtime story when you were kid would.

Also call me a huge faggot, but I think largely in part due to my distaste for female attention seeking behavior with all the makeup and eyefucking the camera, there are very few women who do this that I can listen to and actually enjoy. Only men who do it and are not being obnoxious performative please-look-at-me narcissists can trigger it in me without me getting annoyed by their behavior, genuinely no homo.

This is one of my favorite channels out there and the dude who does it is some elderly Canadian fella:

>Asmr I purely listened to when I was a teenager because it simulated personal affection.
I was with you up until this. It's a physical sensation, not a substitute for intimacy. The strongest and earliest memory I have of experiencing it was some school project when we had to take turns tracing each other while we lied down on a big piece of construction paper for make an outline.

>>530098342
Sounds like it might be John Butler? I do think intentional ASMR can work, but a lot of the stuff produced these days is dogshit.

those bastards

It does absolutely nothing for me. It's irritating.

Ephemeral Rift used to be the king of experimental non-sexual (outside of when he's explicitly mocking it) ASMR but now all he does is podcasts in the woods with his normal voice. It's sad to see.
>>
idk if this is the origin but the earliest "asmr" video i remember is that one italian barbershop video on youtube
as for the effects, depends on the person
>>
>>530093653
Seems like asmr is 99% coomer shit and thots flocked to it to get more simps

Check this out (ignore the esoteric mumbo jumbo in the description). They have many videos but this one is my favorite. Give it 2:30 min with the headphones.

No. I prefer to just listen to boring history for sleep.

It's really just a bunch of shithead women doing phony "stage whisper" voices and nothing to do with an actual ASMR effect.

Bob Ross is ASMR.
ASMR is just calming sounds, like a gentle breeze, gentle waves, etc. It comes from when humans found peace and quiet in natural surroundings.
