If you cannot fully staff your checkouts then it should be a requirement to have self checkout. I live in more rural leafland and only 1 of my local supermarkets has self checkout while the others have far more checkouts than they can fully staff so typically less than half are open at a time so lines build up quickly because all it takes is one Boomer bitching that something in the flyer didn't ring up correctly for the line to come to a stand still.
