He would pretend to be a hardcore ultranationalist and say he was going to remilitarize Japan to appease the US, then try and cut deals with the UN (which the US hates after 2001) taking on things like ESGs/SDGs while asking to get under their defense umbrella. Abe would also try to frame North Korea as a national threat frequently, most likely to get the UN involved in Asia. I don't think the CIA wanted to kill him since he was very clearly siding with them, but the UN did because he only nodded along with their deals for free money even when they wanted to internationalize Japan's labor market. I don't get the point of the UN they're supposed to be a peacekeeping organization, but all they focus on is economics.
