I remember browsing the 'old internet' and I'd legitimately find a lot of cool things on random people's blogs/niche sites, and most of the time I would receive exactly what I was looking for.

Then, probably around 2016, it shifted dramatically, and it started being more like
>oh, you searched for 'why X is good'?
>no can do, but here's an article from a mainstream newspaper where a kike explains 'why X is bad' instead

This apparently happened as a result of search engines prioritizing "high authority" sources and "fighting misinformation" but it feels like it completely neutered the internet

Wonder if the paid search engines are any good or if the surface web is condemned to be this bland corporate-state propaganda machine from now on.

This is where AI agents are now superior to search engines. Google Gemini directly answers shit now with no ads or kikery, just like Google search *used* to do before the Covid bullshit.
>>
>most of the time I would receive exactly what I was looking for.
thats more like wandering around in a random store seeing if something catches your eye
in between old style searching and AI there were "featured snippets" that just copy pasted paragraphs from top results which sucked. AI made searching for specific information and answers a lot easier.
i dont even remember how i would find something like that in the old days like "can i take this medication for X" "what if fucked up or broke Y what now". it would be like going to your local library and finding a book about it

It was happening before then (2012/2013) but at that time it was mostly money-driven. They went from pure 'ranking' (based on visits, etc) to people buying placement in search-results to full control & censorship in under 5 years.

All of Googles logos are satanic emblems
clearly they play ball for the jews.
They have a monopoly on many things
and they keep making more tracking types
of things mandatory, like an email & cellphone.
All the search aggregate is going to be what
they are comfortable with people seeing
and in another 10 years if things got
worse how easily discernment could
be controlled if that's what people correlate
with knowledge, to search for it on the
internet and to even compare those sources.
Like the search assistant Ai can easily gather
data from the aggregate and summarize it.
All information is in line to be controlled.
Even the trump is shabbos goy he took

Basically post 2016 they added 'context' to all your search queries, so instead of the search engine going
>Oh he looked for "Jews are bad? Okay find websites with headings and body texts with that phrase in it"
It goes
>Well jews are obviously good, so we need to give him websites where it contains the phrase as a hypothetical but the heading/body text are all pro-jewish!

>normal speech syntax search query

I was quite adept at knowing what keywords to use as my search string in order to get extremely accurate and relevant results. But it generally wouldn't be in the form of a sentence that you would speak to someone. Then I remember, it suddenly just kind of... stopped working. I actually had to dumb down my google powers and pretend I was speaking to a magic robot in order to get anything halfway decent, but as you say it was just what they wanted me to see, not what I wanted to see. Sad really, symptomatic of the shift from the internet being a cool autist club to it becoming a marketing data extraction resource for sheeple

It was started by jews. The logos are all freemason symbols because when google was started they convinced masons (who mostly served jews at that point) that making jewish kids rich with darpa tech would spur the economy and create new billionaire inventors by inspiring them. However, it was another jewish scam.

Why are there hardly ever any random christians that become billionaires in business at the age of 25

Websites optimized for search engines rather than search engines being web crawlers where you had to customize searches to find specific things. Then search engines would optimize further by wanting you to find what you want in fewer clicks to lead you to use their website. This led to jewgle becoming top dog.
Then jewgle wanted more revenue, so they changed how the search worked leading users to have to do multiple searches to find what they wanted, leading to more chances for ads to be seen or clicked leading to more profits (think the (sponsored) searches if you use jewgle without an adblocker).
Now with the AI search they can directly link ads more easily and don't even have to disclose it is a sponsor leading to more people clicking and even more profits. In addition to the AI search being dogshit leading to even more searches or suggested searches for you to click and pull up more ads. Needing to do more searches as well generates more data on you and links further accounts of yours together allowing them to have more valuable data of yours to sell to data brokers to then feed back to the government and other buyers.
Or to shortly summarize, search engines got shitty due to lust for profit.

> Google was always shit
No so. Back in the old times google was practically omniscient. It could find anything. The web felt truly endless, google would return hundreds of pages of results. If some search string existed anywhere on the internet google would find it.
>>
>>530343586
Facebook going mainstream around ‘07-08 is what killed the internet imo. Combined with the release of the iPhone, it brought hundreds of millions of normies online and radically transformed the culture of the internet in just a few years.
>>
>>530343284
Yes I was a Google power user too, using tags like intitle: and date range modifiers and such to get precise results. In recent times they just started ignoring those tags and showing me what they want me to see. And they assume whatever I'm searching for is something I want to buy, so shopping results get highest priority.
In using AI agents for searching I can see that these agents are using a Google Api directly and they can still use these advanced search tags and modifiers. So the original Google search features still exist, they're just not for "users" anymore

Google rose to popularity precisely because it could find what you wanted better than other search engines. Other search engines prioritised those sites who were paying them for advertising over relevant results. Some of the techniques they used for relevancy could also be gamed (i.e. stuff specific keywords in the page that the search engine will find many matches to but the human doesn't even see it). Google's PageRank was simple enough to understand and harder to game, the tl;dr was that if a lot of sites linked to something, that something is more important. Since humans tended to link to things that they thought where of interest to other humans. And as you mention, Google's desire to combat wrongthink and bring in "authoritive" sources and artificially boost them while censoring others, is why it got shit. It has left a gap in the market. People don't want all this nonsense like "AI in their search. They want it work in a very simple way, using something like PageRank and if they want to ask AI something they can ask it.

There was a sweetspot at some point with searching. I dont remember when. The time when I started using the internet it was pretty hit or miss and there was a lot of bouncing back and forth between search platforms- netscape, webcrawler, altavista, aol, askjeeves, etc... but youre right that youd find a lot better stuff back then. Youd find some autist's incredible geocities page that had everything you dreamed of instead of nowadays getting mainstream shit thats watered down.

One would think there would be paid services that offered functional web searches if profit was the sole motive.

This is why I think OpenAI needs to start their own search indexing engine of the internet so they don’t have to rely on google deprecated and broken search engines like paupers and methed out addicts

I genuinely think that Google lost the source code of their search engine prior to 2010 due to some corporate political infighting and just poor git practices.

All of that hard work gone done the drain, completely overwritten. We’ve asked them several times to bring back the old Google search capabilities pre 2010 Internet. Nothing despite promises they’ll restore it for special IC MIC purposes.

Now the engineers who wrote it all are gone, retired, and plus don’t even remember all the important details

yea, but I mostly remember it for one artist's gag comic involving a bard sleeping with everything.

Ive recently joined to the AI wagon after avoiding it like the plague (ai "art" still avoided) and it certainly does offer a better search experience. It wont give you links to disprove the Holocaust but it can do pretty much anything else. It can even help you mod games, this shit is crazy.

I think people are just gatekeeping. I wasted so much time trying "to do the heavy lifting".
