china is domin-ACK

>China's solar panel companies are in the red. The production capacity of solar panels far exceeds demand, and the market price has not stopped falling. The market cap of LONGi has fallen to $18 billion. Four years ago, their market cap temporarily exceeded $80 billion, but 70% of that has evaporated.

>>

It also depends on how efficient are these compared to the conventional solar panels.

Pretty much, but it could ease the energy consumption for commercial buildings.

Perovskite solar panels last only 2 months maximum in optimum conditions before it degrades like crazy and stops generating electricity. You’re paying solar panel premium prices for something that will be scrap before the season it’s installed in is over.
>>
>>530345359
I love Japan and Japanese people and culture but this won't reach the masses until at least 10yrs. Sucks that so many perks from my country ruin relations to the point where I feel like seeing for myself would be an imposition. Oh well.
>>
>>530345359
I did some reading about those solar cells after your thread yesterday (or was it two days ago).

From what I read, they don't even last a decade, and they are made with lead as a core component of the crystal structure. So after less than ten years you've got a pile of toxic waste that you have to dispose of somehow. I suppose you could mandate recycling of them, but that doesn't really help when it comes to lead compounds leaching out of them due to rain/dust abrasion and so on. Maybe sealing them inside glass would stop that, but then you reduce efficiency and increase cost.

Anyway, good luck with them, sounds like that professor/researcher is a true Nipponese genius. Domo arigato, Miyasaka-sama!

Solar is pretty much a gimmick except for limited seasonal applications. In practice you want the big strips of solar panels because it's easier to put a sort of cooling system on them increasing their efficiency. Everyone wants power but no one wants to strap a big heatsink to their window.

The power generation of the future will be nuclear with a combination of modular nuclear reactors and tradition gigawatt reactors. Moreover, technology advancement in the past 50 years has generally made them more reliable when you exclude Soviet incompetence or the freak natural disaster of a high magnitude earthquake. Japan is just one of those places where you don't want a big nuclear plant because of high earthquake risk. Modular nuclear reactors if placed correctly will be less susceptible to this problem though. The only problem with nuclear plants is that you need competent operators and engineers. You're not going to have that in the golem states kikes want to design full of jeet scammers and niggers. So they need to get some magic windows. But then again niggers will just break the magic windows anyways.

Disposal of spent rods is fairly safe and simple and they breakdown fairly safely while their radiation does not penetrate the concrete shells they're stored in. The only work that has to be done is with the extremely small quantity of extremely high half life material.

That's a 4 times less surface(power generation) for 4 times greater manufacturing cost.

Just make big squares and put them in a dedicated power farm. It will be cheaper, more efficient, easier to clean, cheaper to maintain, etc.

should I move back to Japan? I worked on a base but then tried out english teaching. base is better but I'd want to be in Tokyo. Transmission loss, cost of the transmission infrastructure, and centralization causing a single failure to be catastrophic are all reasons to support decentralized systems at the point of use like rooftop solar over solar farms.
>>
>>530350261
Anyone with the means should be leaving the US ASAP
>>
>>530349611
The roof is often one of the better places if you don't have the space. With a window you either only get direct sunlight in the morning or evening or not at all. On the roof you get most of the power when the sun is highest in the sky and hence has the most direct pact to the panels and often for most of the day. Tracking panels separate on the ground are ideal but not viable for most people who do not have the space for it.

The downside is a reduction of incoming light and obstruction of the (beautiful sea) view and it's not cost effective to install in some few small windows but requires office building dimensions to eventually pay back. I bet my ass it's a hell of a lot more economic to just install standard solar panels on my roof in Portugal than those foils on my windows and doors. Those are just foils, right? Not special window glass.

Language school is very affordable, especially with the current exchange rate.
Plus on the student visa you're allowed to work up to 28 hours/week, so might be a good way to get a part-time job in a field you're interested in and parlaying that into a full time gig eventually.
