I'm all for alternative forms of energy being utilized, because having some diversification improves resilience. But a massive push to transition from the most powerful energy sources to inferior ones is national and economic suicide. Nuclear and Petroleum/coal/gas must be the backbone. Hydro/wind/solar can be good local backups for if the backbone is having issues but they cannot and should not replace the backbone. It seems like leftists deep down know this and want it to happen because if they get an economic collapse they can blame capitalism and have a better chance for their communist revolution happening
