About the only complaint I get from my expat friend in China is that he works on Sundays lol. He gets tons of vacation days that makes up for it. Iran is a country that has been starved and sanctioned for decades, surrounded on all sides by US military bases while being a multi ethnic society with lot of grievances with it current regime. If the US is looking for an exit strategy after a week with Iran they would get cooked by China.
