I was a NEET until 35. I spent a year before that getting in shape and doing a bit of looksmaxxing to make myself look normal enough to go outside, then applied for a job in construction and now I'm making more than 2k a week. Which is a lot of money to me. I barely do anything at work and just stand around chatting all day. But I got a home loan and bought a house in a nice area and I'm getting married later this year. Before that I spent my early 30s thinking I'd never make it, that it was too late, that I'd never find a job, never find a girl, never have my own house, but it all turned out fine. Even if I was in my 40s, or even my 50s, I still would feel the same way. That it's not over until you give up or die. You can always change your situation for the better.

The problem with being a NEET as you get older is actually not that there is some law of physics which prevents you from ever achieving success. It’s that if you are still a NEET at 30 you probably have some ethical lapse that has made you to be a NEET still and will likely prevent you from achieving success in the future and since you’ve just let it go so long you probably will continue to do so. It’s a sign of a personality defect, basically. If NEETs suddenly woke up at 33 and could work hard, make smart decisions while taking the right risks, they’d be fine. But they never do, not because they can’t because they’re 33 year old NEETs, but that they won’t the same reason that they are NEETs at 33.

Someone gave me really wise advice when I was about 30 that I’m just going to say here in case it helps anyone. They told me that in the final analysis life is nothing more than a web of actions and connections. When you die, and people speak at your funeral, probably nobody is going to talk about how much money you made, what age you graduated from college, whether the first 10 years of young adulthood were a in a high status job or a low status job or even if you didn’t do anything but play video games the only time. The only reason they might mention these things at all is because they’re relevant for what you go on to do with your life later. The points they talk about will be what, in the final analysis, you did with your life and who you were to them. So really think about what this means. It means that these things like NEETing just don’t amount to anything more than context in the end. You don’t have to worry about them so much. What you do need to do, or should do, is figure out what would be worth doing with your life such that when you’re exhaling your dying breath, this life will have been worth living. That’s obviously no easy task but it’s also really liberating. It means you can let go of the feelings of pressure to succeed in a conventional career, to buy the fancy career, the big house, to have a “good” job, or even any job at all and you can just focus on what actually matters. It’s not going to be easy but the way I was as a young man and the way many men seem to be is totally rudderless. They just don’t have any direction. And so some waste their lives chasing money and prestige or pussy and others waste their lives retreating from everything as NEETs. 1/2
