That's the price of oil right now? Where are all the economy experts of this boards who were saying based iran would collapse the world economy and put the great Satan on its knees? Where are the faggots who said US would be expelled from the gulf because Iran is bombing shopping malls and hotels? As always, a bunch of fucking retards lol

200 million barrels have disappeared from the market the past 10 days. Give it another 10 days, another 200 mil will disappear. The market is playing on the headlines that the war is coming to an end and that trump is going to pull out which is why it's gone down so much. I guarantee you oil will go back up by end of month when the market realizes that Iran is not relenting. Give it time, trust the plan, and the great satan will be defeated.

We spent nearly half of our strategic petroleum reserves in 2022 to fight prices rising.
Unfortunately we forgot to replenish them.
We have dramatically less resources to fight this price long term. The price you see there assumes this will all be over soon.

It's a massive problem democracies have in general. Spending money in a sensible way like filling up your reserves and so on is the obviously correct approach that will pay off long term.
But a politician's term is only 4 years and the crisis might not come during that time.
If some other politician promises to use the money for some new gibs or subsidies program instead, he'll easily win.

The majority is retarded, and therefore democracy leads to retarded decisions way too often.

>Where are all the economy experts of this boards who were saying based iran would collapse the world economy and put the great Satan on its knees?
Nigger we're barely into this thing. Sand niggers and shitskins in general are excellent at expending life and outlasting civilized worlds in forever wars. Trump not putting boots on the ground means no regime change. No regime change means nothing geopolitically will change. Iran's ability to wage war will significantly be decreased. It already has. But they aren't going nowhere. They will still be chanting death to America, they will still send niggers here to knife attack white people and suicide attack large events. The only solution to the Iran problem has always been sever ties to Israel, stay in our neck of the woods, and completely close the border and stop letting people in period. But none of these things will ever happen. This manufactured crisis will lead more sand niggers to western countries seeking "refuge", and we'll take them as always. We will slowly turn less white, we will slowly see people get killed and raped, and it will all seem far away to most people until it is too late. This has always been the goal. Israel isn't taking anybody in. But they're more than happy to blow some shit up when they aren't fitting the bill in any way, and their geopolitical goals are furthered.

This is only true in futures trading where the physical goods never actually change hands. The effects of oil scarcity begin to show when refineries begin to run out of stored and in transit oil and they need to restock, which futures trading is meant to smooth out so that there are no insane spikes if multiple large buyers need a good at the same time.

You want facts and data? Outside of the Persian Gulf, we have 900 Billion barrels of oil in reserves, that's talking about The US, Russia, China, Brazil, Nigeria, EU, etc. We can dig into our reserves for much longer than Iran can survive. Smart money knows this, is why you haven't seen a spike, nor will you ever see $150 barrel price, the countries of the world would much rather go thru the 900 Billion in on reserves than to have an economic meltdown. Iran could blockade for 26 years at our current consumption level of oil BEFORE we even feel anything

Stupid niggers the lot of you
>>
>>530401638
Actually the total between the G7 and China is closer to 3 billion barrels but pumping is also an issue. During the last oil peak when oil reserves were opened, the west pumped out 1.1 million barrels per day, 5% of the normal volume of the strait.

>>
>>530401638

basically the west is never going to run out of oil, but the strategic reserves are primarily designed to guarantee access to oil for critical industries rather than to stabilize prices, meaning it can't scale up releasing oil infinitely.

The US isn't going to dump its entire reserve. This price drop is speculation tied to g7 claiming they're gonna dump strat reserves. But even if all g7 nations dumped their entire reserves, which they won't, it's only enough to counter the strait blockage for less than two months. So if they dump half, which is still crazy, its less than a month of the straits output. Will the g7 put themselves in a precarious position with no end in sight of the strait being closed? Absolutely not.

The marker senses Trump wants to end the war, but it hasn't come around to the realization that that doesn't open the strait and ubfuck energy.
>>
>>530415258
Because the markets do not reflect the real world situation.

the real world situation:
>major refineries have been hit
>strait is closed
Basically, one fifth of the oil supply is off the table. You can't use oil if you can not refine it.
China for example, still receivs oil from Iran. But they do have their own refineries, so they can actually use it.

Around one fifth of the oil is currently gome from the market. That is -20%.
Most of that oil is supposed to go to Asia. Japan for example is 95% reliant on Oil from the strait of Hormuz.

However: Most refineries and oil pumps around the globe do not run at 100% capacity. So some of the issues can be alleviated by increasing production. There is a buffer.
The claim that Oil is over and no one gets any, is just not true.

But the oil price is definitely going to increase. The shortage won't happen because there is no longer enough physical oil to go around.
The shortage will happen because the oil products that get sold will be more expensive.

The stock markets have not caught up yet. The initial spike was mostly panic buying.
But the fact that oil prises will continuously keep rising is inevitable.
The bottleneck is not the price of crude or brent. The bottleneck are the demand on refineries that only can ramp up production so much.

Reasons why the oil price fell again include things like decreases of Russian sanctions and people believing Trumps lies.

You want a real indicator of oil prices? Check your local gas pump. The stock market is not real.
>>
>>530415985
The real risk wrt oil is the storage tanks filling up in the gulf.
SA recently massively expanded their storage and has increased exports via the red sea, so they're probably fine.
But others will see full tanks turns into pump shutdowns if this continues.

Volume on spot-oil is DOUBLE what it normally is, retard. That's not petrol companies buying & selling their normal weekly supplies.

Investment firms and billionaires will just find a way to carry their wealth through the incoming decline, and then buy properties, companies, infrastructure and other things that have real value on mass.

Money always wins.

Always goes down a little and then way back up. The problems caused by the Strait being impassable haven't even set in yet and if Iran really has mined the narrowest points it's gone for months.

Investment firms and billionaires will dump relatively small amounts into anything as long as they think it can make them money.
And when you're talking about billionaires, 'relatively small amounts of money' is a bit skewed upwards.
>>
>>530417160
My point is that they will always profit from crises.
And when the firm is about to go bust because they have gambled too hard, they will be saved with taxpayer money.

Private risk is your own. A billionaires or investment companies risks are socialized.

Can people please stop pushing this retarded bullshit?
Iran has land, sea and submersible drones. It has no incentive to mine the strait, because that also f*cks its own cargo. It's a retarded thing to even claim, which is exactly why langley pushed it through CNN.
These aren't sandpeople. They don't live in caves. They have bunkers with airconditioning & internet.

True. That is just modern economics.

It used to be that people would make money by providing goods and services.
Now they make money by borrowing money for free, using what they already have as leverage.
Literal ponzi scheme.

> >US wins, like they always do
What have the won the last 70 years exactly?
The first war for Israel? The second one? Maybe the third one? Overthrowing all Israel’s enemies turned them into lawless shitholes which is great for Israel, but how is it great for the US exactly?

The only arguable success I can think of is the Balkan war under Clinton and he had to eat major plates of shit for that one. But at least the result was a gradual westernization of part of the breakup and an end to conflict in Europe. I urge you to try to defend the other wars in the kitty litter.

G7 announced they were dumping oil onto the market from strategic reserves to lower the price.

They don't have infinite reserves, and now Iran is mining the Straight.

What do you think is going to happen once the release from the reserves ends? Again: A HUGE chunk of the oil trade isn't even functioning right now.
>>
>>530418564
Anon... the did announce it, but they never dumped and oil from reserves.
The market literally fell for a hoax that was probably designed to fill said reserves cheaper.
>>
>>530392522
prices are based on speculation right now, the real price increase will happen when reserves are running out and the supply shock sets in with no way to hide it
>>
>>530407704
> usa has oil reserves worth $5 fucking trillion
What a bizarre way to measure.
The strategic reserve is 416M barrels. The daily burn rate is 20.5M.
This is 20 days of use.

The problem of course is that it’s a global market and trying to drown one country in discounted oil is going to be next to impossible so you’re always diluting how well your reserves can soften the blow with how much gets traded away for the delta between your discount and fever prices elsewhere.

>>530401638
Oil reserves in theory aren’t reserves ready to pump and is an idiotic measurement here when you need years to set up producing wells and less profitable ones (which is a major reason they’re not already being pumped) are reliant on the price hikes and if that’s temporary the reluctance to invest will be a major obstacle. Look at the tar sands debacle.
Oil isn’t oil either, there’s various purities that require different refineries and get different uses. The gulf states have the best oil quality for finer use, a large portion of the “reserves” you mention are shit crude, Venezuela’s “huge reserves” is a good example there, aside from the commie regime it was just never that attractive a source to pump.
>>
>>530392522
and we're still paying $1 more at the pump
>>
>>530392522
It was back at 88 hide an hour ago shut the fuck up. All that matters is the straight of Hormuz opening. Oil will go back to 100 by Friday.

This. They're pumping up news about releasing the reserves blablabla which will work to lower the price up until the reserves running out start hitting the headlines in two weeks. Newsflash while China was refilling their reserves before the current crisis trump never bothered to so the US is halfway to out before the crisis has even really begun

Nows the perfect time to buy

>Where are all the economy experts of this boards who were saying based iran would collapse the world economy
It hit my strike price, and then the short positions started coming in a few hours after that thankfully after I took profits.
What's happening now is a bunch of paper trading fundamentally ignoring the reality that 1/4 of the oil market is gone, punishing retards who trade on news articles rather than having immediately gone all in well before that based on common sense.
I made money, and the price will rise again unless the strait is reopened. That's just a fact, not sure how you can even argue against that.
But I wouldn't play what I did again, too much IV. The market is currently pricing in that some stupid bullshit might happen out of nowhere to the upside or downside in the next 50 days. You missed out on a pretty penny by not immediately betting your jungle savings upon hearing what was happening.

Reserves aren't to stabilize the prices at the pump where you buy your mystery Chinese stimulants, you fucking retard. They're for critical infrastructure. The reserves cannot cover 1/4 of the oil trade indefinitely. 20 days at best. The reserves have not even been released. This is paper trading on the news until all of the retarded faggots trading on the news get crushed. After all of the retarded faggots have lost their shirts, and the strait situation is not resolved, the price will find reality. And the reality is that this is the worst oil shock the world has ever seen if left unresolved, i.e. the blocking of the strait continues.
