Back in 2024 when the front collapsed, Russian planes tried to bomb the advancing jihadists, but the Syrian army refused to remain cohesive and hold the line. There was nothing Russia could have done unless they had sent their own soldiers and fought Syria's war for them at that point. Planes in the air help but you can't win a war if there isn't boots on the ground willing to fight it. Blame the SAA for its loss, because its 100% their fault.In the case of Venezuela, the military there seems to have betrayed Maduro by standing down and not making any effort to stop him from being abducted. Only Maduro's Cuban bodyguards offered and resistance. The military probably negotiated with Trump behind the scenes.As for Iran, Russia is helping by providing intel to them and probably also military aid and using its seat on the U.N. security council to speak up for them. China is also doing that. The fact that Iran's regime still stands is probably entirely thanks to Russia and China's support for them.
