You see, time only goes forward. Everything is in motion all the time - the galaxy is rotating, the solar system is bobbing up and down within a spiral arm, the sun is moving at about 220 km per second. To go back in time you'd have to put everything back where it was - in the whole universe.
There's talk they come from an alternate universe, same time but mutated into greys due to the cold war becoming hot.
