Why do voters consider "austerity" completely unacceptable these days?

Countries save money to become wealthier. It makes sense and used to be normal.

Because if you have debts then austerity measures mean you inevitably lose everything.
>>
>>530435811
because after the 2008 bailouts austerity lost all meaning and even the most retarded streetnigger knows that the saving money is pointless in a system built on systemic rug pulls.

I don't understand. If a government has debts and it reduces its daily expenses, why would it (or its citizens) inevitably lose everything?

>Why do voters consider "austerity" completely unacceptable these days?
because they work.

Yeah, the systemic rug pulls are real and screw over individuals. But that doesn't mean the government should never reduce its spending. Corporate subsidies and bailouts might be examples of government spending that should be reduced, for example.

All neoliberals are getting sent directly to Hell.

It's not austerity when you don't have a choice it's poverty. Not to mention we're actively blowing money on worthless to downright insulting shit constantly without addressing homeland poverty first. They're literally selling our country and telling us to be to tough it out and the people gain nothing.

Honestly, that's what americans get for so slavishly supporting neoliberalism. I hope every single american family starves to death out on the street. Hey at least they were trans allies and not racist and supported women's rights, right?

>>530441212
We'll get race wars long before that, and even after everything I still believe in my people. I'm just thankful for the US's geography keeping us safe from outsiders.
>>
>>530441312
Glownigger, your people are in israel getting the shit bombed out of them.

No, my people are sleeping. Wake up call is on the horizon tho. Virtue signaling stops mattering when your life is on the line.

The problem is that each company/corporartion, banks, government backed enterprises, and similar organizations develop interdependencies . This is the so called "dominoes" when people who aren't just quoting twitter is warning you about when talking about the domino effect.

When one group goes down, they take the dependents on them down with them.

Politicians figured out they can buy votes using voters' own money via taxpayer funded gibs. Now an underclass of gibs addicts will disqualify from any elections anyone who touches those gibs. If any authoritarian regime cuts all gibs all the other countries must gang up on it screaming about humanitarian reasons and other excuses to appease gibs enjoyers at home who might fear something of the sort could happen to them.

Two decades of it in bongladesh did nothing but buttrape the poorest. Par for the course.

Austerity means less money flowing within the economy as a whole. If you have $100 debt and $1 interest and through austerity measures the amount of actual money in the economy shrinks to $100 you could pay down to the last penny and you're still $1 short which means you borrow that $1 at interest to pay the original $101. Austerity measures can be possible if the debt were smaller or nonexistent and the overall money supply were enough to cover all debts. But if you don't control for those factors then you're basically asking to starve.

>If you are in debt you need to spend MORE.
Is it true they gave Nobel prizes for this kind of horseshit?

>If you are in debt you need to spend MORE.
