Researchers scanned the entire brain of a fruitfly, then mapped the neurons of it exactly to a neural network. They didn't fuck with the data, or program the fly to do anything. They didn't teach the fruitfly neural network to do anything They just put it in a world simulation with rules. They didn't train it. It didn't learn how to be a fruitfly. They just copied its neurons and then copied it over to a neural network.

when the fruitfly spawned in the virtual world, it immediately started flying around, and eating, and behaving like a fruitfly. There was no discernible difference between its behaviour in the simulated world vs a real fruitfly.

Why do you keep posting this gay thread? Fuck, are you the fly?

I wanna upload my dog's consciousness so I can fuck her in VR

This means that neurons are a computer.

You could almost say, conclusive evidence that there's no soul and no afterlife too...

well yeah, it means when your neurons stop functioning you can no longer observe
>>
>>530440552
Does what we know, believe and remember map to an arrangement of neurons, or does this kind copying just leave base instincts?

You made this up btw

yeah, your memory is the strength of the signals between your neurons. you have clusters of neurons with varying strengths, like you might have a cluster of neurons for food, and something like an apple would fire up different neurons in that cluster than an orange. whenever you think of apples or oranges. and if you think about oranges repeatedly those same neurons will keep firing the same way
