Is there a reason why all of the information regarding food, diet and exercise is so contradictory? I remember when I used to be told that, oh, you should go to a restaurant because you need to support your local restaurants to keep the local economy and community going. And then suddenly that became, oh no, what are you stupid? You can't go and spend money out at a restaurant. What are you, a moron? You're gonna burn all your money that way, which makes sense. When I go out to a restaurant and I try to get a bowl of ramen, which is seasoned water, noodles and vegetables, and it costs $15 and then $18 after tax, and that doesn't include tip! Obviously, that's not fucking sustainable. But at the same time, am I really going to spend nine hours working at my job, commuting on top of that to get home, and then I'm gonna stand up, exhausted as hell, make food for myself, and then maybe go to the gym afterwards? Who in the fuck is doing this? How in the fuck can you do that in any way that is sustainable? In any way that anyone can keep up with, particularly in this fucking country? It makes no fucking sense because you have to drive everywhere. There's nothing fucking walkable. It used to be that there were these communal cafeterias where you would pay a dime and you would get a nice, simple, warm meal for the day. And that was the end of things because people didn't even have room in their fucking homes to have these elaborate fucking kitchens where they can spend all day cooking like madmen. What is going on? Why did all of these systems and ideas change? Were we preparing for a future where we're doing minimal labor and we have fucking butlers making everything for us and personal chefs? This doesn't make any fucking sense. It feels like we built a world for people who are supposed to be richer.
TL;DRIn order to succeed in life, you need to:>work full-time (or more, actually, a lot more)>cook like a nutritionist>exercise like an athlete>budget like an accountant, use little money as possible AKA paupermaxxingHow is any of this possible for one person? I don't have a tradwife at home to cover half of this while I work on the other half. What is the endpoint?
>>531172631Just go on wing night, get the thundermug pitcher of beer and then eat 2-3 lbs of cheap wings while watching baseball and playing Foosball/air hockey
>>531172672The end point is to FIRE and buy a plot of land far away from city. Off grid solar setup with a well and a homestead setup with own garden for food and cow, goats, chicken for milk and eggs.
>>531172631>>531172672Damn, you're stupid. Americans, I guess.Anyway, there are many solutions, easy solutions, to your problem, among those are>work less>home office>buy a slow cooker and let it cook for you while you're at work>change workout routineYou work 9 hours and sleep for 7-8 (i hope), so you have 6-7 hours to cook and work out. Why isn't that enough? If you see working out as a chore instead of a fun hobby, then maybe it's not for you?
>>531172915>work lessIf I work less I will be fired. And even though overtime is optional, it really isn't. Not doing overtime is a great way to make yourself appear less integral. >I don't have any room for a home office.>I already own a slow cooker.>My workout routine is already spartan as it is. 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of lifting.I also commute in a car for 45 min-1 hour depending on traffic
>>531172631Come up with a few cheap, easy, nutritious meals you can spread over the course of a few days. If it takes more than an hour to put together, reserve it for the weekends. If your job is sedentary, that kinda sucks I guess. An hour stroll once a day is more than what most people do. The gym is more like a hobby to replace whatever else it is you enjoy doing if that's a thing you're into.8 hours sleep (you're probably not getting that much), 8 hours work, 2 hours commute, 1 hour cooking, 1 hour exercise. That leaves you 4 hours for literally anything else. And that's on workdays. You probably have 2 days a week where the 10 hour chunk dedicated to work and commute is just more free time.To tie a bow on this, this is all just optimization. You don't have to live like this. You'd just be a little healthier if you did.

Hit meditation mat 15 minute "know your breath" technique 3000 years mind-body synthesis proprioception make happy healthy hearty oncemore, the rest comes later.
>>531172631Make your own frozen meals, Cook large amounts of food once a week, separate into small portions to freeze. Beef or chicken and rice, spaghetti, lentils or beans or chili,, Nuke one portion when hungry. Keep fresh fruit around. Lots of water. It's that simpl3.
>>531172631Life is full of scams and people telling you things that make no sense. To address some points bare minimally:You say you have to drive everywhere and it’s probably true for you where you live, but it’s overstated. You don’t want to bike everywhere. But you probably could bike most places. I’ve been riding a bike now exclusively for 3-4 years. As for cooking food, you say there’s no time but there are simple ways to make nutritious food. Sometimes not making a whole meal is the answer. Sometimes it is. You said you eat ramen; that’s very quick to prepare at home.Anyway what I’m getting at is…get very very rich or be prepared for the reality that most of us are poor. Be prepared to struggle and walk for miles etc, as other poor people do. Because you are one. I’m one. And In some ways we are not as well so make the most of it and lead a simple life excelling in things you can control.
