I do not believe that Trump's U.S. will protect Taiwan. Nor will South Korea or Japan protect Taiwan. TSMC has already established a significant portion of its semiconductor manufacturing facilities within the U.S., and the U.S. will likely be greedy for the non-memory semiconductor market share it could reclaim if Taiwan collapses.
