When someone willfully and knowingly commits sin, they make a contract with a demon that oversees that sin. Most of the time, demonic possession doesn't involve your head spinning around and vomiting pea soup everywhere, most of the time, the demon lets you go about your life, just nudging you a little bit every so often, sometimes it gives you a harder nudge, sometimes barely any coaxing is needed to steer you wrong, sometimes none. The more you engage in that sin, the more power the demon gains over you. He nudges you to commit other sins too, and then that forges contracts with other demons.

It doesn't take very long at all to have a whole council of powerful demons steering you like a little remote control car.

And they'll have you doing things that seem reasonable and even seem right, and then years and years later, you can't explain to yourself WHY you did those things, or how you thought they were normal and natural. You'll lay in bed wondering, "Why did I do that? Why? Why did I think that way? Why?"
