the majority of americans killed so far in the war had comfy jobs. they were army reservists from iowa working non-combat jobs. one was a mechanic, another was an IT guy, etc.

Those positions are for people who were already in the army before the draft. You either have very valuable skills like being a mechanic or you get to go to the frontlines.
