It’s strange that people treat it so seriously. It’s just an adventure story, like John carter of mars or glory road. It’s not a serious book. There certainly are some plot points where I can see why they might find it concerning, but it’s just a pulp novel. There were some prescient parts of it though, the scenes of Jewish torturers using metal rods to sodomize rebel prisoners is completely in line with reports of the treatment of Palestinian prisoners in Israel. Interestingly, a main plot point is a fictional book which describes a positive vision of white supremacy. It acts in the plot like other fictional books like the necronomicon or the yellow king, where encountering it completely transforms the readers inner world. Reading it causes a religious experience, and the vision of the future is so powerful to the characters in the book that they become fanatical, willing to kill themselves if captured in order not to expose the secrets of the book, or commit global genocide. It’s ironic that the author had to use such a literary device, because it tacitly admits that he was incapable of coming up with such s positive vision of white supremacy. He had to use a fictional book rather than explicitly stating this vision because he doesn’t actually have a positive vision of the future. And in fact we see that same lack of positive vision in white supremacy and the right wing space in general. All there is is resentment and reaction, no imagination of a better world. And because the book is a fictional device and not an actual positive vision this plays out in the plot of the novel as vast swathes of the planet are destroyed in nuclear war and the main character dies in a suicide attack. It’s a decent read but there’s nothing serious about it.
