The petrodollar exists mostly for Europe's benefit so they can buy oil without it depreciating the USD. The prices of gas and food are the same for me, although I hear people who live in cities/IFCs which is less than 20% of the population are having a rough time. I sincerely don't know how you can expect the average person to care about this, the only thing people care about is removing immigrants.

Inflation is also set to increase dramatically now. It's not going to happen right away because the federal reserve has to set those rates and usually does so at the last minute to try and "reduce" panic over price increases but this is basically an oil crisis that will last decades so he increase is unavoidable now. Losing the petrodollar will also ensure the increase is massive. But like I said, they will do everything they can to introduce it slowly so people don't riot, but it will reach everyone eventually.
