You can not comprehend the level of freedom we enjoyed before the year 2001. You zoomers aren't allowed to do SHIT. Not just legally, but the amount social rules that social media has added to society. The amount of beaurocracy to do ANYTHING these days is 20x what it was back then. Every day you are paralyzed by it, but most likely don't even notice it since you're born into it. The amount of "rules" about anything these days is 20x higher than then.
>>
One example is there was literally no concept of "cringe" back then, which is just a form of societal shaming that can only exist with social media causing mass conformity. This era is conformist to an extreme. Back then we were anti-conformist. That's why we had all those diverse sub-groups like Goths and whatnot. The modern era is about everyone being exactly the same, clones of each other.

The 90s weren't perfect
>Waco
>1994 AWB
>Desert Storm
But man you could not deny that it really was a golden age by comparison and just from looking at old videos you could really feel the peace.
Like imagine a time where your biggest problems were simply just trying to move up in your career and get your rent/mortgage paid on time and plan a cookout with your buds.
Nowadays you have to worry about a potential economic collapse, civil war, surveillance state, mass migration, censorship, cancel culture, etc.

Not half as good as the 80's. The 90's felt like a downer compared to. You could already fell the decline setting in. Things got worse every year. That's the problem with times. You never know how good or bad a time it was, unless you lived in the one before it.

1992 baby here, so I don't have many memories of the '90s, but yes, it was fucking excellent. America was so good that goth and emo kids were widely bullied simply because like bro. You live in america. This place is great. What the fuck you mean you're sad all the time? What the hell is wrong with you?

Also it was a lot more white lol.

60s through 90s America was the peak of Pax Americana and this is why every American over the age of 45 has a completely unrealistic view of the world. They grew up in a world that truly does not exist anymore.

>It's easier to find jobs.

The 90's was a tough time to find a good job, no doubt about that. My dad worked at Dow Chemical, Bell Telephone, Chrysler, and Studebaker, before he decided to join the fire department. He walked in and out of those jobs like they were shit nothing. I would have killed somebody for just one of those today.

Watch the movie Major League with Charlie Sheen. In the scenes at the MLB baseball park they do close-up's of the fans, 95% of the people were white. Now look at a modern day LA Dodgers game, 95% Mexican't. Beaners ruined the vibes here, they are very similar to European gypsies in their culture, outsider out-group culture that worships violence
>>
>>531235725
Yes. Everything went downhill around 1997-98. Bands like Limp Bizkit and Eminem were selected by producers or other artists rather than fans. Nickelback was picked by executives. 9/11 was used to get in on the exploitation which NAFTA approved.

What is peace
To the people
Who work the land
And die in wars?
It was learned in a game
That was played by us all
Who held the top of the hill
From the rest was called the king
And I can't believe it all
Was good for humankind
Is it peace
To point the guns?
Is it war
To fire the guns?
We would run with all of our might
Push the king off to take the hill
And to learn who was king
And who makes the better serf
I can't believe it all
Was good for humankind
And I have to read the lies
Between the lines
Believe in this
We are part
Of a whole we call the earth
I can't believe it all
Was good for humankind
And I have to read the lies
Between the lines

Where I lived was basically perfect. Basically no black/brown people and almost no crime. Regularly just dumped our bikes/skis wherever and came back hours/days later and got them without a care in the world. Now the city is full of browns, crime is rampant and you can't leave a bike unattended for 5 seconds without it being stolen.

Also social media completely destroyed women. Zoomers really have no idea how easy was for average guys to have extremely hot girlfriends.

The thing i miss the most about the 90s is that things really were more affordable. Two 16 year olds could go catch a movie and get lunch for 20 bucks plus bus fair down town. Throw in an extra five buck to smoke a joint in the park before hand. Today it would be easily 50-60 bucks to do something like that.

>$17,000
I bought an '86 Grand National for $350 from some old grandpa, was my first car. Had low miles and only the headliner needed to be redone with adhesive, everything else on it was basically mint. Still have it but I do love the old Rangers, had a few of them. The dumbest thing a person could do as a young adult was go into large debt willingly though, most were too stupid to understand interest rates, my go-to was Rent-A-Center back then when they automatically reported payments to major credit agencies. I miss the simplicity of the late 80s, 90s and early 2000s, that time period was pure bliss but the internet unironically ruined society, multiculturalism backed by the internet killed off any trusting society. It stole the innocence of entire generations in just a decade, now most people fall into one of few groups, a pompous fucktard, a sexual degenerate or a scav wallflower simp. A minority of people are still objectively good and they're usually the ones that avoid the internet as much as possible, no social media presence or video platform accounts, just a work email and personal one. Fuck, went and made myself sad writing this shit.

Dude 80's and 90's were the ultimate in fun and freedom....movies weren't woke pieces of shit, you only had to worry about niggers in their part of the city, no worry about Jews destroying everything fun, you felt safe. Video games were primitive but a hell of a lot more fun than the shit they produce today and it was PHYSICAL MEDIA not some digital shit that dies when their storefront dies.

We had parties at parents houses when they were out of town on vacation, barn parties that went til 3am until the cops busted it. Malls were packed on Friday and Saturday nights you never worried about some ghetto fucking pavement apes start shooting it up over some faggot ass baggy pants gang shit.

It was FUN as shit. No social media, no woke shit, the only foreigners you saw were usually latinos they weren't trouble back then. You rarely saw a Pajeet and Asians were either visiting or the few that you went to school with.

9/11, smart phones and social media fucked all of that up. Thank God I got to grow up in it.

>After the year 2001-2005 whatever you think of doing is probably blatantly illegal, or will be treated as such by everyone around you even if nobody is harmed (oh my goooood, you're riding a bike on the sidewaaaalk very slowly? They were. Not as good as the 80s, but they were pretty good. Really compared to now, not enough of a difference to worry about. 80s and 90s go together like chocolate and peanut butter.

I truly genuinely wish I could communicate to you how good it felt to be alive in those times. How different it was. The air was literally different. The "vibe", in modern speak. You'd go someplace and, you'd just.. trust people. How to communicate that? That sense of "anxiety" being in a place simply not existing. Even if it's other people the same color as you, nobody trusts each other now... In the 80s/90s you could walk around with a portable video camera on your shoulder and people would smile and laugh and say "Filming a movie?" Do that with your phone now and it's "WHY ARE YOU FILMING ME? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?". Everyone is nervous all the time. 9/11 changed everything, I cannot stress this enough. It sounds like an old cliche if you were born after but it's completely true. People used to sit on the hoods of their cars and smoke/drink, police would roll by and just nod and wave. And we liked the cops, cause they were our neighbors/family members and they were all pretty smart and cool guys. You can't know what that's like if you weren't there, the entire idea of well-liked cops probably sounds alien now.
>>
>>531235725
I was born in 81, so I remember the 80s, but I definitely grew up in the 90s, graduating HS in 99
The 90s were pretty good, but the cracks were definitely showing, at least in East Coast suburban areas.
The good:
You didn't need to be rich to live in a white neighborhood
We lived outside during summer vacation with no parental supervision. Riding bikes, walking through woods, going to the pool, we'd maybe stop home for dinner, and then go back out until dusk...all with no way for parents to contact us
New technology was actually cool, none of this "MobileDevice#19" that looks identical to the last 4 versions.
Videogames in particular advanced at an unbelievable rate.

The bad:
busing suburban kids to cities, and vice versa, due to equity
rap music becoming popular with white kids. Snoop dawg and dre really did push a degenerative lifestyle onto the psyche of millions of white kids
Divorce rates were very high, and it sprang up really quickly compared to previous generations.

>Products are higher quality now
They most certainly are not.

>It's easier to document things now
Demonstrably a terrible thing. Smartphones and social media reduce the quality of every aspect of the human experience. When someone asks "who was that actor in that movie-" put your fucking phone away. You aren't improving the world by spending all your time staring at a screen pulling out inorganic dumbshit machine answers to every conversation. And that's saying nothing about documenting every retarded thing every person ever said so it can be checked against constantly mutating modern standards to mete out punishment for every perceived retroactive infraction. Inhuman totalitarian bullshit.

>It's easier to navigate new places now
Absolutely HORRENDOUS. GPS navigation utterly prevents your ability to form a mental map of your environment. This is bad not just for understanding the place you're in, how you get there, and how to get back (which is terrible), but it entrains your brain in other ways to not be able to map out the relationship between yourself and other abstract concepts. It's one of the worst things to do.

>It's easier to meet dates now
No comment, married, don't "date" anymore. But I doubt it. Easier for meaningless hookups maybe. Not for finding a partner, or even friends for that matter. You need to interact with people on a more real, social level for that. Your phone trains you to distance yourself from people. Your brain has literally atrophied from not spending time face to face. You're a social species, acting like you're not damages you.

>It's easier to find jobs now
Doubt. Not high quality jobs that involve interaction with your local community. Maybe makework bullshit and IT scams.

Retard take. Waco was based, christcuck crazies burning themselves alive instead of taking a weapons charge. They found the guns and the tapes of how crazy the leader was. Anyone who stayed following that guy was retarded trash, shame about their kids though. They literally could've left at any time and not followed that nut who thought he was Jesus.

Desert Storm was based, Saddam was a piece of shit attacking other countries unprovoked. They should've just taken him out back then and we wouldn't have had a 20+ year shitshow later on.

I mean Ruby Ridge and the Yugoslavian Civil War were right there but you picked the meme tier events. You're fucking stupid, just wanted you to know that.

It wasn't as great as people make it out to be. We were still controlled by kikes. We were still desegregated with niggers. Inflation was still 90% or something. Worst of all, more people hated Hitler and supported the modern state of "Israel." We see more clearly now and I think that is what is truly better. Even if we are poorer now.

I was fairly young in the 90s but I've listened to a lot of people older than me, who grew up in the 80s, 70s, and 60s, casually recount stories that involve actions that would have them arrested, convicted, and incarcerated for years. And they do it so casually, like they're just talking about innocent childhood mischief.

Here is objective proof that they were:
>>
>>531235725
The 90s were a jewish shadow of the 80s. They looked a lot like the 80s and in some ways the end of the Cold war and the opening of new markets and the early PC and web industry they could be argued to have been technically superior.
But the 1980s were the last decade where white culture was 100% dominant.
If you came here or entered media you'd have to bow to the white culture.
The 1990s on the other hand were the first era pushing niggers and nigger culture in everything. It was also the first decade really pushing for illegal immigration. And it was the most Jewish decade for how much impact it had on our industry base and housing being transformed into a commodity.

>Products are higher quality now
FALSE. Everything is fucking chinese trash or jeet trash. Shit used to last.
>It's easier to document things now
FALSE. Documentation was the same with a 90s with a word processor or 3.1 windows PC. Even if limited to a typewriter, paper works. The main difference is in cataloguing not documentation. Either you read a screen that fucks your eyes with blue light or you read a paper that strains your eyes.
>It's easier to navigate new places now
GPS is a decent improvement, but wholly unnecessary as you get a map and just wing it. Did it all the time before gps
>It's easier to meet dates now
HAHAHAHA yeah right.
>It's easier to find jobs now
Yeah if you're a jeet. In the past you'd walk into a building and ask for an app.
There was no way for them to verify or follow up and it was far easier to add a parent and friends dad as a manager/reference.
Also less women in the workplace outside of fast food or the mall.

Don't gaslight yourself with the lie that because they're old they're justifiably ignorant.
They're not. Hold them accountable, make sure they fucking understand. Maybe there's nothing they can do, but when it's 25 years after the Iraq and Afgan wars started and we see the exact same fucking politicians and radio/talking heads cheering this new MIGA war and boomers and Gen x are the only generational cohorts cheering it on.. they don't get to stay comfortably ignorant.
They should know, because they're cheering it on.

The world would have been better off with Will Smith as President instead of that war-mongering sociopath.
>>
It was probably better than now on balance. I think I liked the early 2000’s a bit more, but Im not old enough to have been an adult in the 1990’s. Technology was sophisticated enough to be helpful and make life easier without being obtrusive or causing social ills and the atomization we experience now. You’d go to work back then and talk about the show or sports game that was on the night prior, because everyone was watching the same 2-3 shows and whatever game was on. Everyone listened to more or less the same music too. Now everything is hyper customized by an algorithm that is individual to your preferences and there’s so much entertainment choice that everyone is down a totally different rabbit hole and there’s no common social ground. Also, politics was not that serious—people would think you were a spaz if you were getting emotional over it or too invested. It was just a simpler time. One thing though, everyone was super programmed by mass media. TV’s were totally ubiquitous and you’d be within earshot of one throughout the day. Before social media the only way you knew what was going on in the world was by sitting in front of a TV for a half hour to run through the news cycle. If you like consuming alternative news, it didn’t really exist back then in the same way. Most people took the news as though it was largely unbiased and a good faith factual articulation of what was going on in the world without an ulterior motive. Dating was also a lot easier before social media, people’s standards were healthier when your options were geographically limited to where you were living.
