We're so fucked if everyone has the same level of literacy as you do. Lifting sanctions means allowing people to buy Iranian oil, if Iran wants to charge extra for people buying oil or using the strait (I.E. pretty much every country in Asia) then it's effectively adding a tariff on to using the strait. This pisses off everyone who needs the oil but not the US.
