The martyrdom of Christ in the face of a demonic jewish elite is a historical fact.

Jews hate Him more than any man who ever lived. Even more than Hitler (who admired Christ's' martyrdom in Mein Kampf)

We know from writings of several historical figures (Tacitus, Josephus, Pliny, Sutonious, etc.) which give an account of Jesus' ministry completely external from the Bible. Their accumulated writings tell us that:

•Jesus was a wise man
• He was despised by the jewish elite for His preachings against them
•He was said to have fulfilled the prophecies of Old Testament
•He was said to work miracles
•He was called the Messiah
•He was prayed to as a God
•He caused Christianity to spread throughout the Roman empire
•He was crucified under Pontius Pilate during the reign of Tiberius at the behest of an outraged jewish mob

So given the historical context that Jesus is indeed real. Rejecting or mocking Him either secularly or religiously is a massive mistake morally, philosophically, politically, and religiously.
