How fast is this story going to disappear from American news now that the ATC recording puts blame on the FAA air traffic controllers?

what a fucking goat rodeo. a united flight reported a strong odor and declared an emergency and an overwhelmed ATC basically just lost track of the situation and cleared a fire truck to cross an active runway where a passenger plane was in the process of landing. You can hear the situation unravelling minute by minute as the ATC loses his grasp on the broader situation as he focuses on the UA emergency. I don't see how this shit can even happen, the systems ATC uses should be more robust than relying on the average minds of a rapidly decaying country.

the last part is how trains operate in some asian nations. there are still trained conductors who get paid, but the trains are speed controlled and obstacle avoidance controlled and driven entirely by a computer (and they all communicate with each other).

the conductor is just as an emergency failure override person.

the US refuses to implement any systems like this, even on our subways and trains. it makes no sense, unless you understand that the elites want people dying for Moloch. to reiterate, conductors etc still get trained and paid, unions dont lose out.

It's really not a bad pay rate for a stable long-term job, EXCEPT that the FAA has been playing "no white men allowed!" for so many years that there aren't enough controllers. Which means mandatory overtime -- on a web forum I read, every time there's been an ATC thread, I've read controllers bitching about six or seven days a week of 12-hour shifts, often while the tower is understaffed and so they have to cover what should be multiple people's jobs. FAA administrators also just spam new people at the worst understaffed airports, resulting in rapid burnout as the new hires just aren't ready for that kind of environment.

Anyone remember around two or three years ago when the FAA advertising for "disabled, mentally retarded, mentally ill, etc." people to apply for the ATC jobs? Because nothing spells "best qualified" like having a schizophrenic blind double-amputee Samoan lesbian handling ATC.

FAA management needs to burn over shit like that. Fire the ones who have been obstructing the hiring of qualified white males, force large classes of new hires through, and staff low-traffic regional airports with the new hires until they are experienced enough to handle major airports like LaGuardia, O'Hare, Atlanta, etc.

>>
>>531414599
I've worked in airfield maintenance for a while. This seems like a classic fuckup in risk management. They've probably let minor issues to pile up into bigger issues and finally those piled up into a major event, when the overworked control crew just couldn't magically counter all the shit.
>>
>>531415387
Well of course they will, it was a firetruck, dummy.
>>
>>531418614
sadly, here is it malice and blood sacrifice. our ATC agency even put out calls for hiring the mentally disabled, while continually turning down White male applicants. the failure of the system here is deliberately engineered by the kikes who run it. they fly private jets out of small airfields.

It's difficult to say whether you are retarded or just badly misinformed by whatever "news sources" you follow. Musk didn't "gut" the ATC staff, his DOGE group fired a few mid-level bureaucrats on a "review committee" who were useless and who were most likely part of the DEI efforts that had blocked the hiring of qualified white male candidates.

You sound white to me, man. We're all touchy because jeets can be anywhere, it's a bad situation. I accidentally call my own shadow "streetshitter" sometimes when I see it out of the corner of my eye.
>>
>>531415780
That's horrible.
>>
>>531411235
Why do New Yorkers all talk like low IQ retards? The FAA shouldn’t allow people with retarded accents to work as air traffic controllers.
>>
>>531415780
he blocked the toilet. you can see the results
>>
>>531411235
This is why we need AI to do these retarded jobs

Shouldn't ground traffic trying to cross be talking on the ground frequency to LGA ground?
>>
>>531429094
they should be looking for the big fucking bright white lights coming towards them out of the sky. visual driving rules ffs
>>
>>531429233
True, and the aircraft would be out towards the left on the driver's side.
>>
>>531430172
oh it was like that was it? unbelievable.
>>
>>531415270
>open to work
Not anymore!
>>
>>531411235
You can't trust people do anything. Sooner or later, drugs, alcohol, lack of responsibility, incompetence, malice, or human error will become a factor and this is the result.

The truck was, in fact, talking to LGA ground.
The controller was being forced to do both ground and air because of understaffing.
The controller screwed up and told the truck to cross the runway.
The truck driver failed to visually clear before crossing.
In fairness to the truck driver, apparently in that particular truck the driver sits in the middle of the vehicle and has poor sight lines to both sides.
In fairness to the controller, this chronic understaffing is the fault of the FAA's refusal to hire enough staff (especially if the applicant is a white male).

We are going to see more such avoidable crashes unless the FAA administrators can be criminally prosecuted and justifiably executed for their refusal to hire qualified applicants.

>the driver sits in the middle of the vehicle and has poor sight lines to both sides.
its one terrible idea after another with this shit isn't it?
>>
>>531419046
literally no ATC staff were cut.
it's funny how you thought this was reddit

>avoiding crqshing and maintaining situational awareness is pilot/fo's responsibility.
retard. similar, have you ever heard of laws of tonnage? typically unmotorized boats have right of way over motorized. but if you turn your sailboat into the path of a cargo ship you no longer have right off way because of the size of the ship. they can't just "stop" it takes like a mile to come to a stop, because they are fucking huge. imagine a landing commercial jet being expected to yield right of way to a random truck driving across a runway.

Thinking about how fragile these fucking things are while you're 20k feet up going 500mph does things to my brain
>>
>>531427099
looks like the jet plane version of that russian sailor or whatever he was that tried to unscrew a detonator cap with his teeth LOL

No one knows what you’re talking about, stay in your containment general, NAFOnigger.
>>

this, it seems they were using one controller for several jobs.
the airport i worked at had several frequencies operating. there is the ground control frequency, and that controller concentrates on moving stuff around the taxiways to the runways and back etc. the departure frequency has another controller, and the actual air traffic is controlled by a third. when it was really slow, like at night, i think they did with less people on.
