My deano manager made a point of raising his voice the other day in a conversation with a low IQ coworker about some guy they both know and how he is a "loser" for probably still living with his parents in his late 20s. He did this knowing I'm older than that and still living with mine. I'm glad I didn't take the bait, as he is a wind-up merchant and gets off on that sort of thing, but still. It took me a long time in life to learn that a lot of people not only don't care about you, but will actively try to hurt if not sabotage you in some way if they are insecure, petty or intimidate by you in some way. It's things like this which always make me pause for getting too sentimental about muh people etc in politics. Many people aren't worth fighting for.
