The ancient circumcision only took away the tiny bit of overhanging skin past the tip of the penis… it was eventually made more extreme by rabbis during ancient Roman times in order to stop jews from being able to restore their foreskins and pass for Roman. Thus the modern form of circumcision which removes the entire foreskin below the base of the glans, as well as the frenulum in most cases
