To have experienced prosperity and thinking it would last up until your child would be able to experience it, only for multiple financial crises to happen. The issue is conservative politics is banking on and taking advantage of those overwhelming human emotions to bring in a dictator or to allow authoritarianism, because thats what they think is truly missing. I grew up in a conservative household where the main point was to never allow the government to be your source of meaning or purpose and to never take government assistance unless you truly need it. Kinda crazy that im in a military hub after becoming a veteran and it seems like everyone around me including who I previously served with is on disability for anxiety, depression, or even erectile dysfunction just so they can get 10% more. Why are we relying on the federal government to do anything instead of our communities? Probably because everyone is stuck inside of the hyper-real, experiencing protest, combat, and war without even being there, feeling like they are accomplishing something, but never getting the full feeling of physically being in the battle. All the different intense emotions that can come from looking at your phone and seeing things you usually wouldn't see every day as a regular human operating on Earth's clock alone. It's all a simulation asking to feed off of your emotion, if you allow it. Posting this just gives credence to that fact.
