How the fuck does an average guy afford a pickup truck in 2026? Trucks are the every day working man's vehicle, necessary for all construction and trade work. These people aren't making six figures so how does anybody afford a work tool that costs 60k+?

That's a car shaped like a truck.
Good for most normies though. Very few people actually use a full size truck to it's fullest extent.

Doesn't mean fuck all, what's the pay monthly, because 99% of people are paying monthly and telling you they paid cash to flex, so they really don't care how much it costs, in fact the more it costs the better as better bragging rights, but it's irrelevant, what's the pay monthly?

Most trades don't need to play pretend semi. Hell most trades would be best off with small Euro style vans, which they don't even sell anymore in the US, because Americans have more money than sense. Which is your answer.

I buy used oil field diesels. I have 3 (2 F250's and 1 F350) of them I got with ~140k miles and spent no more than 14k each on them. They're still on the road every week and the one I drive has 512,000 miles on it and still has its nuts.

>>532226162
Typically it would be towing trailers, transporting game deer, carrying tools/supplies, etc. I also use my f150 to camp in as the bed is 6.5ft long and fits a queen mattress perfectly which lays under the topper and on an installed drawer system which contains all camping gear, stove and cooking set, spices, weapons, Ammo, tackle, as well as 30 gallons of potable water. Basically if you are self reliant f150s multiply that ability if used right. Ofc I can and do camp with a single insulated mat and tarp (cowboy burrito) but my wife likes the comfier set up so yeah

Electronics, and demand. Newer trucks suck now anyways, because they are making them V4 with turbo, which has become a problem with some trucks.

I don't know why anyone would want a new car unless it's a luxury brand. Too many features that are not needed. They're all cookie cutters that look similar. Also they make it so you have to take it to the dealer for repairs.
>>
>>532225347
Just take them
>>
>>532227408
it's like a status symbol or something here, especially in rural areas. Around here most of the men drive trucks like it's a dick measuring contest and most don't do anything with them except drive to the beach and drink in the parking lot. And it becomes an arms race who has teh biggest truck like a lot of them want to feel more "badass" or "in charge" in their tall ass truck. Then they see a bigger truck and have to have that one!

I prefer cars personally. I like the nimble handling and lighter weight. The new corvette handling is freaking amazing. I'm so used to the tight suspension and steering in cars I could never go back to a truck.
>>
>>532228318
It's kinda ironic because most of the guys here drive trucks but they just sit in the parking lot. Meanwhile I drive cars and I go fishing lol. So when I get a fish I have to throw it in a big contractor bag so the slime doesn't get all in the trunk. I actually could have a use for a truck unlike them. But I've lived in this house 11 years now and have not needed a truck even once kek
>>
>>532228177
Same here until I drove the new corvette. The handling is amazing and if you get one used with 20k miles they're like 60,000$ which isn't much considering what they're designed to compete with. Also I really have gotten used to the backup camera and blind spot indicators. Those are cool features I never knew I wanted
>>
>>532225347
just finance it retard
>>
>>532228318
to each his own nothing wrong with driving a car better on gas and economical. Nothing wrong with taking your truck to the beach for some beers either that sounds fun and comfy desu. I am unironically a CDL big rig driver so my f150 feels like what you described lmao. That being said my f150 is all stock all the way, normal color, no stickers no BS. The truth is if you're ever going to commit a crime an f150 is the best vehicle to do it in because it's the most common vehicle in America if I'm correct.
>>
>>532226895
Pretty based desu. I traded in my RC F this year and got just under what I originally paid for it.
>>
>>532226982

>>
>>532228703
>just pay $110k instead of $60k
>>
>>532228739
Yeah it does kind of come down to preference. Some people feel safer being higher up but I actually feel safer in cars because the handling, braking, acceleration are all generally far superior in a car. Being high up I always feel like it's going to tip over, but then again I do drive pretty fast when I'm not in the city. I like to see how fast I can take turns before it breaks traction = rollover in a truck

'transporting stuff' is prolly the dumber argument they use, in the context of cars with high beds, silly (unprotected) space etc.

They're 85% neets, but when it comes to car tastes, they're all ranchers, hunters and construction workers in North Dakota and Washington.

These cars are mostly bald fat men's version of expensive bags for city-dwelling retards, that never come close to manual labour. They can be used for that, but most peopel don't buy them with that use in mind.

Yeah this actually accurate. In Florida if you meet contractors from Europe they will drive Mercedes or Chevy vans as work trucks. Americans use oversized pickup trucks even when they don’t haul drywall. My uncle is a GC and just sits in his pickup truck with the AC on and there’s nothing in the back other than cases of water

Meanwhile some white dude from the Ukraine or UK loads up like 50k worth of material in a van and bangs the job out

The Mexicans use whatever the company supplies them with which is usually a shitty van. And the meth men use mini vans

Concerning 3/4 ton or 1 ton trucks
Ford and Dodge aren't too bad right now. The Duramax is okay but the 10L100 is proving to have some issues. Ford's 10R140 ain't much better, but it is better. Dodge just picked up a new 8 speed ZF transmission that people are pretty hype about, it's a pretty proven transmission design.
All three have great diesel engine options. Gas engines are a bit more mixed.
Any diesel truck you buy out of the big three can be million mile trucks if maintained (and deleted).

Concerning 1/2 tons
Yeah nah, these ones might make it to 150-250k tops.
>>
>>532238888
Personally I don't see the point of a small truck when 1/2 tons exist.
But I am also 6'3'' and don't fit in them very well. My father in law has a tacoma and loves it though, but I can barely fit in the thing without my head almost touching the celling and me knees hitting the dash.

A whole lot of them are doing 60-70k even in shithole towns, though.
And loans on something they can't afford, that's the other half of it. There's a reason the average goy works for 55 years and stops working broke.

That's the answer, they're all bought with financing, the price could go infinitely high as long as the financing's there.

You must admit this is true for at least half of truck drivers, considering that most of them don't actually use them to do work. It's the spics, niggers, and wiggers who are to blame for the stereotype. Just like someone who drives a prius is probably a fag even though some people really do buy them for economical reasons. Like retired folk on a budget and no longer care about going far or fast or using their vehicle as a workhorse.

i test drove one when i was in the market for buying a car 2 years ago. the ride made me feel like jumping out and going for horseback instead. straight liquid doo doo uber dogshit ride quality. and i used to daily a toyota
>>
>>532225347
just have to buy something used and fix all the bullshit, as long as you can find something with an intact drivetrain youll be ok. still though you will pay 15k for something with 100k miles. if you take care of it tho most trucks engines will go 250k plus.
idk the used car market hasnt recovered and probably never will, but if you need a truck you need a truck. never buy a new vehicle

>They still sell 8 foot bed trucks in the US. Consumers prioritize four doors and a shorter wheel base for convivence.

Thats his point though. Majority of these retards aren't in 8ft bed trucks because they dont do work. They buy a LARP "working style" bloated car to feel like a big man. You're weirdly defending the most consumerist, wasteful, poser behaviour and idenify with it and associate with being American and freedom. In reality, you're a slave to marketing and being gay.

The transaction is reported to the IRS, usually used to catch retarded nigger drug dealers. The government isnt full of the brightest or most motivated people though so if it's not immediately apparent you will probably be fine.

Not every average guy needs to own a pickup truck just to commute to his workplace or to Walmart. If you have a business that you need one for you can lease it.

>>532226895
100%. For me it was buy 2022 version of car for $28k, or buy brand new 2024 version for $32K. I did have to wait 6 months for delivery, so I guess in this scenario I was lucky I still had a working car until then. Didn't do the trade-in with that car either, because for some reason a 2013 Hyundai Accent which sold used for 4K in 2020 went for 9.5K in 2023 on FB Marketplace. Clown World economics.

Fuck off potato nigger, it's not the bill of needs, it's the bill of rights and it guarantees me a Ford F350 4x4 dually to pick up groceries at Walmart.

They are not necessary for working. Tools fit just fine in tiny cars, and if you need to "haul" freight/cargo you use an actual real commercial more than 4 wheels having truck or if it is a diy job you just use your own old tractor or borrow one from your neighbour since time is of no concern so slow speed is just fine..
>>
>>532240792
Yea why not? Pickups are cool
>>
>>532228318
i agree that cars are superior but most retards here (southern USA) dont have the IQ to notice the difference without it being pointed out.

riding in my old chevy used to feel like i was in a fuckin airplane turning and shit. it was awful. meanwhile my ford fusion was nimble like a cat, cost 1/2, and got 32mpg.

You got an eight year old vehicle with almost 100k miles, $14,000 and you had to threaten them with police to get the price, and you say you “got a deal”?

I just bought a brand new Japanese truck direct from the dealership for $7,000. What the fuck is wrong with your car market?

Its funny how little self awareness you dumbasses have. Your identity is wrapped up in an oversized yuppy product.

Bought picrel off an 89 year old geezer for 15 k. Putting another 5 k in it at a diesel speed shop.
F350 4x4 with airbags. Low miles 6.0 power stroke diesel. Already insanely fast. Can't wait to get it out of the speed shop next week.
Will be able to out haul out pull and pass anything new.

That's just the number they use to drum up attention same as when the Maverick claimed to be under $20K or when the Cybertruck claimed to be under $40K. Even the tiny Aptera is up to $40K now. Is this your first time following a pre-production vehicle?
