Though I hate what the Chinese have done to the Muslim Uyghurs, the original Uyghurs are in fact Yugurs from Gansu Province who practice Shamanism/Tibetan Buddhism and the commonly known Uyghurs are in fact Kara-Khanids who were among the first Turks as Turki to become Muslim.
