>>532239967I keep hearing people talk about implementing a draft and building up an army big enough that they think they could take Iran with it, but I never hear them talk about how the logistics of that are supposed to work. There is nowhere in the middle east that the US could stage the million+ men needed for a ground invasion of Iran, since the Iranians would just slap the staging areas with ballistic missiles. Even if there were you'd still need to get them to Iran from wherever they staged, and that'd mean crossing hundreds of miles of hostile territory just to get to Iran, all while under drone and ballistic missile fire. Then once they were to Iran you'd have a force that would be mostly infantry with very little air support and basically no tanks or artillery trying to storm Iranian positions in highly mountainous terrain. There really isn't a way to invade Iran even if you implement the draft and get a million men.
