To reiterate something I said somewhere else on the topic of if they decide to do something like taking Kharg Island:I genuinely don't even know what the plan could possibly be from their end anyway, like the only thing I can feasibly see them doing is "taking" one of those small islands after a very costly battle...and then for what?it's unmaintainable since even if they clear IRGC presence on the island it can't even be used as a garrison or anything, it just becomes free pickings for drone bombardments on completely isolated troops. There's literally nothing they get out of it, but at the same time anything else would be a literal meatgrinder

And the US practically get nothing out of it, I don't even think optics will look good because they can't really hide the casualties there like they can in gulf countries

>>532266514They already did bomb some of the military bases on Kharg a couple weeks ago, and I think there were a few casualtiesBut the thing is even on that island, troops will obviously have deep enough bunkers that carpet bombing them won't really wipe them out, you would have to invade it directly, in which case there becomes a real cost, and you have to evaluate how "worth it" it is, which I don't see how it is at all...
