>Linguistic evidence suggests Tyr used to be the main God in Norse mythology, the Dyēus, Deywós, Deus, Zeus, etc. The Sky father.
>Tyr sacrificed himself to save the world
>Jesus, part of the holy Trinity, the European God sacrificed to save humanity.
Coincidence?
>Inb4 Tolkien
He understood the connection between European roots and Catholicism.

Tolkien understood we took Christianity and adapted it to suit our way of life.
He wanted to go beyond that and understand mythos behind religion.
Sure, he was a Christian, but the transcend myth is what he was after.

>retard thinks that this all came together like a fine-knit quilt without external motivation or influence
one man observed a monkey and identified with his own crapulence and decided to found the church of science, and you're here proselytizing same as any other family idiot. But here you are, pretending to be the man at the podium instead of another shit-slinger taking a whiff of his hershey-coated fingers.

That's irrelevant.
All humans look like apes, some more than others.

The theme of sacrifice is the same.
No matter if you think people figure out some stuff in folklore because they wished/got close to God or they invented stuff by chance or none of that exists and Europeans are prone to the idea of sacrificing themselves for others therefore they liked the same type of religion, or some other idea that I can't think of, anyway it's interesting. I think.

No. Classical European pagan gods are descended from the mythology the proto-Indo-Europeans brought with them from the central Eurasian steppes into western Europe.
If you want a connection between Jesus Christ and earlier European beliefs, there is a much more obvious connection you can make to Hellenistic Neoplatonism. There's all the stuff about the Perfect One form and all that. And the whole climax of the Jesus story is about him literally being the guy climbing out of the cave and seeing the perfect light of God.

Nah, nigger just making shit up.

You are GAY, FAGGOT, faggot. Are you HAPPY now, or do we have to TORCH you?

>The Sky father.
Tengri, but Tengri's above and beyond such mundane concepts as "father". Tengri is the All-Powerful All-Merciful, all is of Tengri and Tengri is in all.

There's your "sky god" in the most pure iteration, but his name is not linked to those other "sky gods", yet means the same.

You can take the common Indoeuropean words for "pertaining to the sky" and throw out the half of them that mean "a day/the time when the sun is up", so only those that mean "supreme metaphysical entity", and delude yourself to have found something profound.

But that's not wisdom, Anon. That's shoehorning yourself into becoming, in the end, something akin to the miggers.

Yes. This. It's basically Judaism 2.0 for the Masses, with a "good" (I think it ruins it) bit of Neoplatonism and Hellenistic mystery cults.

The latter influence is visible in agape symposia (compare Mithras/Sol Invictus symposia), but more prominently in the Gnostic Christianities that didn't survive because they didn't recruit nothing-to-lose slaves by the shitload, but a small number of chosen richfags who needed something new after doing the Eleusinian, Dionysian, etc Mystery Circuits that were the rage in the Hellenosphere.

A lot of the solar tropes in post-antique Christianity is due to absorbing its main competitor (the "persian" bull-and-sun cults which were not really Persian but hey whatever made the masses buy into it, gotta make it sound exotic...).

Brazanon must face the fact that the first 2-3 Christian centuries were a time when there was intense competition among "nu age" cults, and they were as flaming grifts then as Amazonian UFO cults are now.
The end of Second Temple Judaism shook the religious sphere, people were seeking for answers, and not only Jews. Back then, there was no antisemitism, Jews were considered mostly-harmless weirdoes who kept to themselves. Them suddenly going all Hamas and zergrushing Romans under the command of insane genocidal priests, and duly getting slaughtered with no JHVH halping them, was something unexpected and shocking.

And thus grifters emerged like that one Alexander who built a puppet head, put it on a snake, and got stinking rich by showing it off in a badly-lit tent, claiming it was a God he had adopted.
