it would be chump change for a military

It's just a slightly cheaper clone of the thing they already have.
>>
>>532342438
okay, and? the point of reverse engineering is to find flaws to exploit while improving your own systems, and it would cost fucking nothing to do it for most modern militaries or militias, that's why anyone would buy it. how far does your head need to be up to your ass to say "theres no need to take this low risk opportunity to potentially gain insight on our enemy"?
>>
>>532342387
Why bother when chinks are already selling these

>for a fraction of the price
The reason US military stuff is so fucking is expensive is because that money needs to flow into the pockets of some people, not because the actual production costs are high.
>>
>>532342247
fly it around, its an RC plane

Why did America build a Temu version of the Shahed? I thought ripping off other people's products was China's job. I thought America was full of innovators and inventors who would never dream of copying someone else's homework.
>>
>>532342077
>who the fuck would be buying this?
US Government pays $400k for one of these.
>>
>>532343766
The Shahed is already the temu of shahed, that's the whole point.
If there was a marketplace dedicated to selling ultra overpriced and over engineered knock offs of simple and effective designs, this would be it.
>>
>>532342387
It’s already a reverse engineer of a reverse engineer
>>
>>532343178
Mutts have, after years of research, managed to reengineer the Shahed drone and make a low-quality copy. They still managed to make it ten times as expensive by making every part by hand.
>>
>>532342387
fat retard, it's a motorcycle engine bike glued to a frame.
>>
>>532343979
Jokes aside the fact that everyone (Russia and America) is copying the basic Shahed design without major modifications must mean that it's damn near optimal for the task
>>532344106
China probably would still want to look at the electronics and see whether Americans put some of their own communications shit in there

Why are we paying 400k to make one and Iran is paying 10k?

Because your military and your government are the two most corrupt organisations in the history of fraud. I remember a recent case where they paid $200k to Boeing for four ordinary $10 plastic garbage bins. Perfectly normal and legal, nothing to see here. And that's just the documented part. There hasn't been a thorough audit for more than 80 years. The half-assed audits they tried in the past years revealed trillions of dollars of "accounting errors". Payments to private companies and government employees that nobody documented and nobody ever investigated. Vanished without a trace. Imagine working in a megacorp, transferring 20 million dollars of company money to your anonymous personal retirement funds over the years and nobody ever asks a single question, the money is quietly booked out by accounting, because everyone there has their own embezzlement scheme running and doesn't want to draw attention.

It's how the US government works. Ask no questions, fellow citizen.
