Trains, the most European way to travel. I don't get American's animosity towards trains. Americans think driving is some kind of rugged individualism and that it makes them tough shit.

We even have cross country trains. We just don’t have the need for massive train infrastructure connecting every little town and village and running through every rural area in america. It is too vast and it would be expensive and pointless. Air travel is quicker and easier.

From some of the videos I've seen America has some of the best road trip highways in the world, plenty to see, varied scenery, good quality roads, decent speed, not too far from help, lots of food and rest stops.
For me I like trains if the destination is not that far from the station, as soon as you need 2 long distance trains it can be a time hog.

Trains are great in homogeneous Europe (so Eastern Europe) and OK in the rest. Trains are a tough sell in many parts of the US due to low population density, but there's no reason to not have modern high speed rail on the east coast from Florida to Maine,between the large rust belt cities, and on the West coast.

I have a conspiracy theory that all Anglo countries and colonies cannot into trains. America, Britain, India, anywhere in Africa, all disastrous operators of trains. Meanwhile east Asians and germoids seem to do just fine. All state enterprises in the US including the railways are basically comprised entirely of sub-normal IQ minorities since public works are perennial areas of underinvestment here. German villages might hire an old lady to walk around and clear trash from railway crossings for $30000 a year, American towns would cut that from their budgets in 1 nanosecond to fund more handouts to corporate interests or captive minority voters. The net result is more track fires because nobody cleans that shit anymore and then you get delays. Multiply that to every single facet of civil society here and that is why American cities, even the disgustingly wealthy ones, are invariably piss soaked trashcans.

The thought of riding on a train staffed by American Union rail workers going 200mph is terrifying, especially because they'd probably just use some 200 year old disintegrating rail trestle that was built by an oil baron during the industrial revolution instead of bothering to build a new one. You'd need that kind of speed to cover the distances that are routine here.

The real answer, like every other public service, is that there's no money in it to run a great railroad, or there's more money to be had immediately by scrapping a rural rail spur that costs $10mil a year to maintain and replacing it with a $200000 bus, even if it results in a materially worse experience for the population it serves. That population matters less than campaign contributions from the highway contractor who bribed you to do everything you can to sabotage trains.

The fuck are you talking about? The train tracks and the train going by my old house right now are behind 15' high noise breaking fencing. They don't let anyone near the tracks and ballast at all

They don't even have sidewalks at many places, let alone having stores and services in walking distance, therefore a motorized anti-nigger personal tank became an inseparable way of life there.
