The answer is simpler than you think. Lobbying is legal. In a democracy, politics is essentially a power struggle decided by numbers. Because of this, those with deep pockets can influence a handful of key politicians through legal bribery disguised as lobbying to steer the country in whatever direction they desire.Then, How do we stop this? Theoretically, it is easy. Make lobbying illegal. If a politician is caught taking lobby money, they should be banned from office for life.But It is impossible. Why? Because the very people who profit from this system will lobby the politicians to ensure that any anti lobbying bill never sees the light of day. In the end, there is no exit. The US will remain the worlds most peculiar superpower, one where the interests of foreign entities and wealthy donors consistently take priority over its own citizens
