Was Pete in the wrong here?
>>

>be the generation that ends tough love and strict rules
>world goes to shit
I'm not sure
>>
The real answer is that both are right and wrong
Max loves his dad but doesn't respect him hence the shit he does in the movie.
PJ respects his dad but fears him more than he loves him.
A good parent knows how to balance respect and love since they are two very seperate things
>>
Both sons respected their father and I think both loved their fathers too. That’s what made that cartoon wholesome. Just different rearing techniques.
>>
>>532412500
Strict parenting creates man-children that cannot make decisions for themselves.
>>
This goof lookin' ZESTY, this goof lookin' MOIST, he's got sugar in his tank, he's light on his feet, he's a Ill bit fruity, he plays for the other team, he dances at the other end of the ballroom, this goof theatrical, this goof good with colors, this goof gonna coordinate yo curtains wit you cushions and that shit gonna look good! This goof lifts shirts, this goof on the down low, this goof be a tollet trader, this good gardens uphill, this goof packs fudge, he's a friend of Dorothy, he feels the love that dare not speak Its name, he loves to dance, he's of the Uranian brotherhood, he indulges in the French vice, he has an antipathic sexual Instinct, he's fluent in Polari, he's a refugee from Sodom, he's on the wrong bus, he bats for the other team, he's temperamental, he's 'one of if you catch my drift.
>>
I hate that there is no physical blu ray for this movie anywhere, it's a great film
>>
This movie was too faggy for me, I never watched it.
Can tell from the little I know about it that its a core part of the loser millenial "look what they took from us..." perma manchild that only has nostalgia over a room filled with toys and officially licensed media and brand names. Just the ultimate goy slave cattle.
>>
>>532410598
pete was in the right for the entire movie
>check da map, goof
>>
>>532412725
Literally no evidence of this
>>
>>532412836
>I never watched it
So how can you tell it's faggy?
I think it's unironically one of the more mature films that came out of Disney and it's aged very well
>>
/pol/ will always side with the bad guys because they have a villain complex.
>>
>>532410598
Your drug addicted son can love you if you buy him drugs.
He will hate you if you dont and take him to rehab.
Correct your kids while you have all the power or you will find it impossible to set your 26 year old in the correct path and if you try they might stop speaking to you entirely.
>>
>>532412962
Except that there are no bad guys in this film.
The "baddest" person in the whole film was probably Max for lying to his dad about the map and lying to the girl he liked
>>

Goofy is a nigger.
>>
>>532412914
He's probably just a jaded, miserable zoomer that hates everything regardless of what it is. I haven't seen it in probably almost 30 years, but I don't remember it being particularly faggy. It's from an era where faggots weren't even allowed on TV under all but the most extreme cases.
>>
>>532413029
It's fine
Goofy Movie was one of my favorites growing up and I think it still has plenty of appeal even as someone getting close to 30
>>
>>532413029
That's ok, no one here deserves on-topic threads.
>>
>>532410598
There's an unsettling amount of porn of these characters for some reason.
>>
>>532410598
What's sad is both are right.
You can't just bully your kid and you can't just smother him. You need him to grow up and be a bigger man than you because one day you will need him to carry you into your grave.

A Goofy Movie was produced by Mossad.
>>
>>532410598
Wrong in multiple senses. Fear isn't respect. Being a clown while leaning on your kids is a farce.

It's "who," and that's the longest sentence since Jeffrey Dahmer's. Oh, and "X AND Y AND Z" makes you sound like a fuckin' clown. Oxford comma, use it.

He is in the right. A parent’s job isn’t for their children like them like they are a friend. A parents job isn’t for to properly prepare their children to become the best version of themselves in order to be successful in the world. 100% of the time even if it was tough for the child growing up they will always be eternally grateful for their father raising them proper
>>
Pete's son feared him. Big difference.
>>
>>532410598
Not really. Pete junior's obedience comes mostly from fear not respect. And if you build your authority on fear, kids will disobey as long as they believe they can get away with it, not to mention you will be the last person your kids will tell to about their problems and ask for help/advice.

>>532412500
Its more about balance, being too strict is not good because then your kid will grow up as person who's only achievement in life are good grades at school but is unable to make decisions for himself. Too little strictness will make kid spoiled. It must be a balance.

>>532412967
To be honest, if parents are good then son wont become a drug addict in the first place. In majority of cases Addiction are not born from kid's rebelious attitude.

>>532413090
Unironically but Goofy Movie is one of the best disney movies where there is no villains but characters dealing with their own problems. And the message is still revelant.

The longer i think about it the more i realize that it masterfully shows tells about problems of relationship between parents and their teenager children from both sides and even shows a good solution how to deal with these problems.
>>
>>532421153
Not really. Yes, a parent's job is to make sure child will grow up as a fully functional and succesful adult.
But doing it by fear and thinking that kid doesn't have to like his parents is a one of the worst traps parent can fall into.
Fear can make kid obedient which can be seen as kid respecting their parents but in reality that will lead to kid seeing his parents as tyrants who simply just love to abuse their power over them, and kid will break rules and ignore orders as long as kid believes it can get away with it.

Building respect is a hard task because it requires wisdom and willpower to not let emotions get over you. Parent authority must be used when needed, each rule in house must have reason and most importantly parent must be able to explain their decisions even if it's tiring to do. And most important consistency. As a parent you are supposed to be Kid's first life mentor, not tyrant.

>>532423048
my father ruled with love and fear, and I never felt like he was my friend. so now i live as adult fearing authority and never standing up for myself
>>
My dad sent all these rascally therapists after me in high shcooo tried sending me to boarding school but I defeated them all and he’s still pouty about it to this day.
