>>532411583The satellite doesn't take the clear picture you see, it only detects fire. Red squares are where it detects fire.
>>532411583The red squares in FIRMS are infrared high-heat points. Usually this means a large fire, although it could technically be anything that is hot enough (like an iron foundry). The satellite image is not real time (or particularly current) so without the red squares you would just see a regular photo of the base from the last time the map updated.FIRMS is usually used in forest fire detection.
