For the past 10 years or so, “brutally honest” YouTubers have been basically popular in Japan.You know the type, don't you? people who say whatever they want, act like they don’t care, and present themselves as just being “real.” Their blanding tactic is "your sister/brother".But honestly, doesn’t that style feel kind of annoying now? It often feels less like genuine honesty and more like a performance. On the contrary, those look fake..?Maybe TikTok culture changed the whole dynamic.It feels like solo talking shifted into more of a podcast style, so it’s less obvious now but some vloggers still do it.Do people still find this appealing today, or is this trend starting to fade?

Virtually all YouTubers are insufferable. There’s zillions of videos on there, but everyone gets fed 10 irritating, midwit commentators.
