Morrowind did the same thing too. Also made at the beginning of the millennium and deals with very similar themes. Both have you make your own character but who turns out to be the reincarnation of some messiah like figure who's returning to fight some evil antichrist figure. Matrix which was made a few months before the turn of the new millennium had a similar theme too. This is hardly all the evidence I have. It's just such a weird coincidence and I know people here probably won't listen. Anyone got any examples they could think of?
