While mutts are wasting billions for another moon photo shoot, China is building a space power plant that will generate all the energy it needs for the next thousand years
>>
china has all the best vaporware
>>
Bad move if they had a time-machine, it's time for China to fall down in rags and sackcloth and realize USA's assistance to China has officially ended, and you're about to drop back down into what you were when we first found you, starving niggers tending a few panda bears, bats, snakes for food on a rice plantation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXqox1Vp_hE

Space Vehicle is straight out, forget it, cut funding and focus on the next 30 years being the leanest one you've ever had because Chinese are not by nature cooperative and the USA is going to do to you what it did to Russia in 1991 and 2025. And you will find that your meteoric boomtown Chinese economy was basically Jewish Americans giving you the entire proceeds of USA's serfdom. Like an adult getting kicked out of the house, you're going to learn that you are not ready to live on your own, and when you're starving to death a cardboard box, only then will you understand what is going on and that you should have hustled for total independence faster.

Space Power.... Shut it. Your power plants will be coal and fossil fuels turning a crank, and after that river pumped hydro doing the same, and that after that the rounding errors of clean energy.

With bold action now, you might be able to avoid Russia's fate in March of 2062.

Theoretically could work, but the "space junk" will damage/destroy it.
>>
>>532453636
NOW WILL IT BE FREE BECAUSE IF THEY CHARGE FOR ENERGY THEN THEY ARE WELL KIKES

If only they would've said it was on land. But now we know that it's bullshit, because space is fake and gay, so this is too.

I don't see why this thing would have to be in LEO. these designs typically rely on microwaves for transmitting power from orbit so there wouldn't be an efficiency difference between low and high orbit. the bigger problem is the whole "building a massive deathray in space and aiming it at yourself" design flaw of these hypothetical power plants

k
keep me posted.

No, it absolutely could not happen nor work

Sweet it's working! We're getting this many han-imperial jiggawatts from our space solar farm, and it costs this many trillion yuan per year for taxes insurance and maintenance. What's is our time to return on investment?
Bean Counter: Uh, with respect emperor the equation produces infinity, you're spending more on the thing than you're getting back out of it and this is the case at any timewindow.

That can't be right, we did all the right things, you're a Han spy, carry away this non-believer.

First they take water from elsewhere to ‘green’ the hobo desert, destroying other environments elsewhere and disrupting the earths equilibrium; and now they do the same by removing 1km squared of light from the earths surface. Baffling levels of shortsightedness.
>>
>>532454667
it doesn't have to intersect with the light landing here you dumbass just have it travel accordingly macaco inglês
>>
>>532454667
You can point out what part of the dessert plan isn't working right?
>inb4 they'll build the solar farm above the dessert
>>
>>532454961
not to mention it would be beneficial if it did meaningfully reduce the amount of sunlight hitting the planet because it would help combat climate change. but the luminous difference wouldn't even be measurable
>>
and how are you going to get the power back to earth?

Orbital infrastructure is going to be the most valuable shit on earth over the next 100 years. Put all your money into orbital power plants and asteroid mining firms NOW
>>
Getting rid of heat in space is outlandishly difficult and requires rare earth minerals and advanced cooling systems that are almost as expensive as the rig itself and the orbital delivery transit ticket.

And you can't run the computer full throttle either like you can on land, because where are you gonna place the heat? In the void of space? Did you type: "How to get rid of heat without atmosphere? Into google and listen to the chirpy engineer?" You can't do it except slowly.
>>
>>532456207
asteroid mining is a shit investment. the chances of an asteroid mining industry fully forming during your lifetime is exceptionally low. and when it becomes profitable, it'll just crash the commodities markets as raw resources effectively become free. the only money making moment will be early speculation, and all those companies will be private so you can't even access them

No they won't because it's stupid, and just doesn't work.

At 100% collections, generation and transmission efficiency, this type of installation at geostationary orbit will only produce a bit over 1 gigawatt, in practical terms you're looking more at maybe 400MW, and even that's a stretch because how the fuck are you going to cool all of the power conversion hardware in space where you can only radiate heat away? China built 400 gigawatts of additional electric production in 2025 alone. They'd need to build like a thousand of these a year to just keep up. Not going to happen.
