>>532569479>I literally can't do basic math1000 board-feet of lumber weighs around 5,000lbsthe maximum physical limit for towing on a e-bike, under perfect conditions, and a healthy male, is a thousand pounds on a straight empty road. So in perfect conditions, your perfect rider would need to make 5 perfect trips, or you'd need 5 riders. The actual real numbers are more around 500 lbs towing for an ebike, which means you'd need 10 trips, or 10 riders, and that's assuming everything works, nothing breaks down, and the roads aren't difficult. This isn't even comparing against semi truck loads, which easily are a 10x more than this, this is just replacing 1 basic work truck. TLDR: everything would cost you 10x as much, at the bare minimum, in ideal conditions.if you really believe in this idea, you volunteer to haul the lumber on the ebike yourself for free, we'll see how long you can last before you give up and admit that oil matters. My money's on 1 trip before you give up from exhaustion.

>>532566207Fat tires are a must, basically gives you the practicality of a dirt bike. Thin tires sink into sand and throw you over the bars. You also want suspension, which that one doesn't have. Front suspension definitely, rear suspension not as important and can hinder the bike's ability to dig into dirt and push it when in loose dirt.Hub drive motors are more reliable but chain drive gives you less unsprung weight. Hub motors make the wheels themselves very heavy and it feels awkward, along with making you feel way more bumps because that weight is not rested on any sort of suspension, just the tires themselves.
People who ride e-bikes are either brown thug kids who wear all black and pajama pants pretending to be a bike gang. Or effeminate fem-beard soys. Legs too wear from years of sucking cock and onions drinks to pedal 1 mile. The US is in this legal place where we are having e-bikes and scooters dumped onto us by China with no real way of enforcing them. There is a lot of deviant behavior occurring with these bikes. A lot of grown men riding on the sidewalk in downtown areas threatening to run over business customers and driving customers away. The people never asked if they wanted a bunch of e bikes and scooters dumped into their cities. The people should get a say if they even want these things in their cities.
>>532566503You ain't charging shit with solar. Maybe if you had your whole roof paneled and stored it into a battery, then charged the bike battery with that battery. But that would mean you have a house which means you don't need ti be stingey with a bike or solar charging.Ebikes take a long time to charge and don't give great range. The more power and range they have, the bigger the battery has to be and thus the more weight it has. You aren't making a 24 mile trip on an ebike. At that point just get a gas powered bike. The range and power you can get out of a gas bike requires less weight than an electric bike. Same as cars and drones, we still have battery weight limitations.

>>532565800if I did not do doordash for my income right now I would ride a bike to and from workbut shockingly it manages to be one of the best jobs available to me at the moment, even in the midst of about $4.75 a gallon for gas.If I found a job as a server it would probably be a lot better margins but that would also require a much more fixed schedule than I currently have, and the standing or walking for my whole shift is unlikely to play nicely with the running I do in the morning. And it would also require, you know, finding the job.Got a decent market for it I guess. Take what I can get. This still somehow manages to pay better than the wagie job I had before at $16 an hour, and with significantly less stress and responsibilities, only thing that job had going for it was hours you can work, which you could have had before corporate cracked down on labor percentages and started sending the whole god damn store home early every single day, and the implied responsibility forcing you to not be lazy and actually show up for work. There's no penalty for not going and doing doordash for a day, it's just money you don't make. But you feel obligated to show up for a shift you're scheduled for, even if it's super rape on your wallet after taxes because so much of your negligible income is taxed on W2.
>>532577118There are so many choices and configurations and they're all from China so it doesn't really matter. Just get one and you can swap the motor and battery if you feel the need.Nobody knows what your needs are, like if you want a dirt bike or still having pedals, how much battery weight you're willing to lug around, etc. A gas bike is always gonna be more practical unless you're storing it inside or transporting it by car. There's expensive shit like Surron and cheaper equivalent shit like XingXongChang or whatever random chink brand you can find on scamazon. As long as the reviews don't say that the battery blows up it's fine. Also invest in a fireproof battery bag in case it does blow up.

Whatever you drive plus the cost of gas now, you're fucking yourself. Not even factoring in oil, tire changes, and the devaluation of your vehicle. >>532578135These things are self driven, you can get one that's pedal assisted or just throttle driven with pedals as a backup, or no pedals at all. The law says it has to be under a 750W motor though, pedals or not. Some states may require it to have pedals. Most will slap a 750W sticker on a 1500W motor and still get like 30-35mph total out of it. You really don't want to go faster on a bicycle setup, it's just not made for those speeds mechanically. The faster bikes are more like motorcycles or dirt bikes, but you might as well get a motorcycle or dirt bike at that point. The battery is so fucking heavy the bike becomes a hog and doesn't handle well.

>>532578488Gas assisted bicycles also exist, this is a popular one. Very loud and stinky though. Vibrations will probably kill your sperm over time and definitely need ear protection unless you fabricate a good muffler. People put huge motors on these and make them go 80+mph which is extremely dangerous. The max legal engine size before it has to be registered is typically 49cc but may vary based on state. They really have no way of checking without filling your engine so as long as it's not obviously huge you can say it's 49cc.

>>532565951If there's a big oil shock, you live 10 miles down a dirt road and you rely on commuting to make your life work, you're coming to the city.>I will NEVER go live with the BUGS in the SHITY!Yes you will, because bugs get to make wages and eat. People who live 10 miles down a dirt road but who rely on leaving that home regularly to live won't. No amount of ARs will change that.It should be remembered that for most modern Americans, your infrastructure is based around a fundamental assumption of cheap cars and cheap gas, mainly cheap gas. Lose the cheap gas and the logistics of your life no longer make sense. It's not a moral question, it's not a national character question, it's not a car chad vs bike cuck question, it's not an urban vs rural question, it's a logistics question. If your life requires being able to drive for a half hour or more in a gas-powered car to make ends meet, ends will cease meeting when gasoline hits a certain $ per gallon. If you're on a homestead and only have to leave once a month or so, you'll probably survive. But most people aren't.It's not your fault. This is another boomer legacy decision. America in the mid 20th century just assumed that oil would be cheap forever and built an entire country around that assumption. And you can't easily step down from car-dependent infrastructure to something else.
I'd love an ebike but a lot of states and municipalities are trying to ban them/have you loicensed for it. Feel like I missed the wild west bandwagon with em
>>532577960Believe me, I did the math myself. If I work to the tune of $100 in profit per day, that's after costs in gas, for one I finish that in about 7 or 8 hours on a bad day. 6 on a good one. 5 on a great one.Oil is once every two or three months if I'm hustling, three or four if I'm taking it easy. Hundred bucks a pop. Negligible. Tires are more expensive, maybe $800 a full set, but not as frequent as oil. Overall more or less negligible. Cost of owning a car, sucks to suck. We'll add that into lump sum extra costs for goal numbers at the end of the month and call it a day.Extra miles and wear on the car is also irrelevant, the car will be driven into the dirt anyway and can more than easily make it there if necessary. No payments either.Interestingly enough, my wagie job (Again, $16 an hour, quite high for my market), after tax, also happens to pay around $100 per shift, which makes the easy math easier, but if you really just want to compare paychecks, what I found was if I am working the same amount of days exactly, doordash to $100 profit, six days a week, will always pay more than working as a wagie, as long as I have under 45 hours on my timecard at the end of the week. I was scheduled for about 56. Corporate has a lot of hours to cut. Nothing I can do about it.By the time I left, closer to 42 hours a week was more normal. Here's the kicker though: the wagie job is night shift only, generally requires me to do the job of three or more people, standing for the entire shift, and is busy enough that I have to always be doing something for around 90% of my shift, much more because of labor cuts. Also, no music.By comparison, with doordash, I can work or not work whenever I want, spend 90% of the time in my car, spend generally no more than two minutes ever waiting on food after some heavy updates to the system (I miss book time), I work it exclusively in the mornings after my run, and I get standard mileage deduction and tips deduction on my taxes.
>>532578135You take the car to the grocery store, dummy, same as when the weather is shit. >>532578619Ebikes are a lot more practical if you need to go more than a few miles. Electric skateboards do seem pretty fun though. Caring about what other people think is for children.
>>532565800is that you neo?
>>532577966It's an actual problem because many Americans are convinced that cyclists are a valid outgroup that they will not be shamed for killing.
>>532579179I've been pondering that it's more sustainable in SHTF to have an EV and solar charge it. It may take days to charge but you don't have to drive somewhere every day. So just leave it charging until you need it, maybe for a trip for supplies once a week. Electricity isn't going anywhere, nor are the means of generating it. Gasoline goes bad in a couple months, diesel doesn't go bad but it will dry up quick. You also can't just make a diesel vehicle run on any combustible, it requires a whole tedious conversion process and testing for each fuel type.Am ebike or EV is honestly not bad, but the battery will wear out eventually. Should probably look into breeding horses or pedaling a bike.
>>532579579Literally what Thomas Massie does. He owns a Tesla and charges it off-grid so he's not dependent on gas stations. And yes, over a long enough timeline of no grid support, you are eventually going to not have electricity at all. But that seems unlikely to me.
>>532579346I won't even get out of bed for less than $300 a shift. $100 for 7-8 hours of work is below poverty wage anon. You have to hold yourself to a higher standard. Start applying to jobs that pay more for your time and labor. $100 is way too much for an oil change and $800 way too much fir tires, I do my own oil change and pay $30 tops with a filter, cheap $50 tires for $200 total and they've (almost) never let me down. They're under warranty if they blow early which 2/12 of them have (use Discount Tire or Americas Tire they have excellent warranties).I did the app scams during the holocough so they were averaging $50/hr. I would take home at least $300-500 a day for easy work, though I often had to go into the ghetto and deal with niggardry so it got too unsafe. They were at least paying me though. By the time I went to sell my car it was worth $16k less than what it would be with a normal amount of miles on it. You're doing miles for much less than I was, if you aren't making that much again it's certainly a cost to factor in. Don't let the easy work fool you, i stuck to that job way too long and now it pays well below minimum wage. >>532565800Fell for that scam already, every eBike I've had has been broken down or stolen, they do not last long at all and there range is always 1/5th of what they say. Says 80 km/h max? You're going 12-20km max, 20km only if you're in the lowest power mode and pedal hard. Says it can go 300 km range? Then you'll get 80 km max.The only good thing is they've seriously dropped in price when I recently checked. Bikes that cost 2k CAD before now cost 300 to 600 CAD. Bikes that cost 5k CAD before now cost 1,200CAD to 2000CAD.I ended up losing a 5k ebike simply because there's only one business in all of Waterloo Ontario that repairs eBikes and they refused to repair any bikes not specifically brought from their shop because they were overwhelmed with people bringing in bikes for repairs. Sad thing is it came to me broken from Rize and I couldn't do shit with it because lockdowns.I had some other eBikes that were really good and lasted a long time and I repaired them many times over but eventually I couldn't keep repairing them and one of them I sold it to a homeless Jamaican for $200.Every time the tires pop you're out like a hundred dollars maybe two hundred. The chains on these eBikes also wear down so fast and have to be replaced.Mid-drives like in your pic have stupid specialty parts you can't find in any of the stores like cranks that only work on that, so you're fucked if you need repair....and thieves target these so much. Every one of my eBikes has been stolen at least once, sometimes twice. I find them again by going to the soup kitchens and crackhouses and paying methheads to help me fight them to get them back.Fuck eBikes. I now have a very lightweight trek bike I use for long-distance (century rides / 160 kms) and I use a shitty mountain bike on my cart to get water for my garden and I have a heavily modified Opus Mode that I put single gear on and simplified so less chances of problems with needing to repair it and it is my commuting bike.

I will get back into eBikes when Hydro Quebec's production of John Goodenough's glass batteries really gets underway and we start phasing out lithium-ion battery (originally also invented by John Goodenough) for the glass batteries. eBike lithium ion batteries are good for about 800 charge cycles then they're dead, so if you use them a ton like I used to, within 2-3 years the batteries are dead from being recharged every night. Glass batteries have far more charge cycles, are much faster to recharge (no sitting in Tim Hortons for 4 hours waiting for half your battery to be recharged, you could instead be recharged in minutes), and have far more capacity so can go way longer distances, while also being less dangerous in terms of explosions and being immolated in fire, cheaper, made from common materials not lithium ion from South Africa or China, etc. Glass battery tech will revolutionize off-grid and everything else and Quebec is going to be a very rich province soon while Alberta will be crying about it.

>>532565947>No air conditioningE-bikes are kind of like motorcycles. You don't really need air conditioning unless temps are over 100. But it depends on the top speed of the ebike and whether you need to pedal.>>532565951>What do you do when you live 10 miles down a dirt road?Dirt roads are basically the same as concrete as long as the ground is hard. If gravel "shifts" when you ride over it, it'll cause a lot of drag. Soft ground slows you down a lot.>>532566557I largely avoid riding anywhere near cars by taking side streets and using sidewalks, while also assuming every car is trying to hit me and acting accordingly. I almost never go to highly urban areas though, or really anywhere with an actual bike lane.>>532566503>how long do they take to charge? I have a 24 mile round trip for work.Depends on the bike, battery, and charger. Mine is around 4 hours to full charge. But bikes with larger batteries can be 8 hours or more. E-bike batteries range from 250 watt hours to about 4k watts hours. A typical solar panel only gets its rated wattage for the equivalent of about 5 hours a day in clear weather. You'd need a pretty big solar panel to charge your battery. Definitely not something you would just take with you.>>532566760>i ride mine 18 miles round trip to the liquor store all the time and can make that trip in 45 minsThat's an average speed of 24 mph. I could work an average job for subpar pay anywhere on earth and I would have pretty much identical happiness levels. Making more money wouldn't make me more happy, and as long as I make enough to not go hungry and keep the lights on, making less money wouldn't even really make me less happy. The only thing making more money does actually do is grow my savings. Which don't really get spent on much.My dream job is working as a paralegal for about $45k to $50k a year and doing it until I'm eighty years old or fucking dying. I have no great ambitions. My first ebike was really just a regular bike that offered pedal assist, but it wasn't a direct-drive motor and I had the top speed of assist set to 15 mph, so I would often go several miles without the motor assisting me at all. It was really only there for when I needed it.The bike I'm riding now though is direct-drive. It's much quieter, and much faster, but I basically never pedal it. And since it is direct-drive, the motor drags when its not active. Its really just a small electric motorcycle. Not a bicycle.>>532577568I know there were people doing door dash with an ebike, but you'd have to live in a fairly dense urban area with good weather. Anons that missed out on bitcoin and getting rich btw, seriously look into Hydro Quebec, look into John Goodenough, and get invested. I'm fucking broke as hell so don't even have any money to invest but if you can put in money like maybe a thousand dollars (I don't even have 100) you'll be thanking me later. I also was broke during bitcoin shit and couldn't get into that, but it got big. Just make sure to pull out if for any reason the technology turns out to be flawed and unfeasible, like what happened with bitcoin where it ended up just being a scam, but I don't foresee that happening with glass battery technology. All the research and development has proven it works, they just wanted to keep perfecting it 10 years before even bringing it to mass production and the markets, but now they finally consider it ready. Stocks in Hydro Quebec should grow massively then you just have to worry about maybe competitors or maybe stagnation but I don't see a big drop happening. It's a bit of a long-term investment but in a few years you should be getting rich if you get in now.

Says 80 km/h max? You're going 12-20km max, 20km only if you're in the lowest power mode and pedal hard.Just find out what kind of battery and motor it has and do the math yourself. Or just read reviews or look for a reputable vendor. Stop being a whiney bitch. There are really only like four extra components to an ebike. The motor, the battery, the controller, and the display/computer. You can buy a replacement for everything. The real issue is that they're constantly changing the types of plugs they use. You either have to find a replacement with all the right plugs, or you have to wire new plugs yourself. My main beef with ebikes is that you're going to get shitloads of flat tires, more than a regular bike because you're going further. And ebikes chew up brakes because they're heavy and they go fast. You also burn through tires like crazy because bicycle tires are thin as fuck and wear out after like 1k miles(rear tire wears much faster).Which is why a lot of people get a fat tire bike then put motorcycle tires on them. You almost never get flats, and tire lasts much longer, but they're heavy as fuck, and you lose top speed and acceleration.
>>532584178its crazy to me that more people don't see the absolute psyop that car culture is. like what the fuck do you mean i have to be trapped in a metal cube to get anywhere, what do you mean its been made so its basically impossible to walk or bike anywhere on my own, what do you mean my kids won't have space outside to play bc cars need the space. and then finally when people ask for it, we're too busy giving money so that israel (and every other rich country) can have all of these things

I am talking from experience and having owned about 10 eBikes in my life. I know exactly how far the eBikes actually go and I'm telling anons they lie all the time about the range, that it's always 5x too high. You need about 60ah 48v at a minimum just to go 80-100 km distance, but they'll advertise that as 300 km range.>There are really only like four extra components to an ebike. The motor, the battery, the controller, and the display/computer.This is not true. eBikes have specific wheels and more important they have specific cranks if they are a mid-drive. You just lying and I wonder why.>You can buy a replacement for everything.I couldn't in 2019 for my mid-drive rize eBike. It was completely unobtainable online and in every single bike store in my area. Ultimately gave up on the bike when it got stolen while sitting in a repair shop. Since then I've seen it being driven around by methheads who did some serious engineering making their own custom parts to get it to work and haven't bothered to take it back because the one guy had a gun and a pitbull. The new guy I last saw on it drove away too fast. I really fucking hated that bike and don't really care that much to get it back compared to my other bikes.>The real issue is that they're constantly changing the types of plugs they use. You either have to find a replacement with all the right plugs, or you have to wire new plugs yourself.I've seen people just remove the lock mechanism entirely and rewire it themselves for the plugs.>Which is why a lot of people get a fat tire bike then put motorcycle tires on them. You almost never get flats, and tire lasts much longer, but they're heavy as fuck, and you lose top speed and acceleration.Yeah and then you're getting even worse range. Fuck eBikes for now.
>>532577040You severely overestimate the battery capacity of an ebike or underestimate the capacity of a rooftop solar panel system. A typical ebike battery holds about 300-1500 Wh... a single panel can easily output that much in a day, let alone an entire rooftop covered in them

>>532584418I've never owned a car in my life. It's fucking crazy expensive, even if I get it for free, you have to pay all these fees related to it that aren't even about repairs or fuel or cleaning it. It's such a money drain. I don't see why also everyone needs a car. Everything you can buy as far as big appliances, furniture, etc. you can get delivered direct to your house and those companies are usually doing it by default without extra charges. I think the only people that actually need a vehicle are the people who drive trucks, landscapers and those people driving the really big trucks on the highways that move stuff for businesses. Most people's jobs should never require them to own a car. Every office worker doesn't need a car, everyone working in retail doesn't need a car, everyone working at a factory / assembly line doesn't need a car. Maybe a safari worker, a parks ranger, a guy whose job it is to drive a truck, a landscaper, a construction guy, a trades person, those guys typically actually need a vehicle. All the people who just transport themselves to the workplace and not a ton of heavy and big tools or a lot of goods shouldn't have cars.

They are just projecting the range on the lowest speed setting either completely empty or with as skinny Asian on it. For every doubling of speed there is a quadrupling of air resistance. Basically, you'll get twice the range at half the speed. But no one is going to ride a bike on the lowest speed setting if they plan to go 100+ miles.>eBikes have specific wheels and more important they have specific cranks if they are a mid-driveEbikes are either a hub motor or a mid-drive. The hub motor usually comes as a kit with the rim and tire and goes on just like a regular tire. You just have to run the wire to the controller.>I couldn't in 2019 for my mid-drive rize eBike.Well, prior to about 2020, there was almost no standardization for ebikes. Most were either custom jobs by individuals, or proprietary and expensive as shit. Now, most ebikes use largely interchangeable parts made in bulk in China.>Fuck eBikes for now.The nice thing about ebikes is that you don't have to tag or insure them, they can get you around town, and you can order one from China starting at like $150. But they are impractical if you need to go further than like 10 miles from your house, and if you don't have friends/family who can come pick you up in a car if you get stranded. Basically, they're extremely cheap transportation with almost no overhead costs. But you need to be able to work on them yourself for them to be practical. Basically, you need to be able to change your own flats, and do other basic maintenance.

>>532584673>>532585627The main problem I have with getting an ebike, or even a motorcycle, is that in most cases, you still need a car, so you're not saving the $50-$200 a month in insurance, and $10-$20 a month in tag, and the car's depreciation, because you still have the car. And the cost savings from riding the ebike/motorcycle when you already have a car are rarely worth the lack of practicality or comfort. The people riding ebikes are either children who don't need a car or can't afford one, or the types of people who like riding motorcycles but want one that isn't loud and obnoxious, and people who like to be able to go off-road/mountain-biking but don't have the stamina to pedal up hills.

>>532565800>E-bikesMight as well put a dildo in your ass while you're at it
>>532579179This is why you want people to be poor. So there are not many cars on the road.American lifestyle is about keeping the majority poor , so you the rich one, to have a good time living.
>>532589822Vegan gains thought that too for the electric motorcycles , until he got one and saw the reality. Then he sold it and for a real motorcycle
>>532586265This, they are toys for most people, main forms of transport for poor people.>>532589948I did a conversion and don't recommend it unless you're set on converting it back to ride as a regular bike often. It's difficult to find compatible parts as there's so many different specs for bikes, most kits are not drop-in.
>>532587096I think e-bikes have blocks on the drive chain w, you can. it pedal them without a key to unlock them. Like real motorcycles. So harder to steal.
>>532587096>OP's bike looks expensive as fuck. This is why he shills this treat. He tries to appeal cool of having a bike so the rich can hop on his bike wagon.
>riding a bike when women, asians, and jeets are permitted to drive
>>532577960this, I drove for LYFT for a few months and it's just not worth it. I was doing all the work and burning all the gas and wearing out my car and the paltry pay was just not worth it. If those kikes at corporate didn't keep half the money they charged people for me giving them a ride it might have been slightly worth it but as they have it designed now- nope, not worth it.
>>532590772
>>532589822Surrons used to be legally a bicycle so you could essentially ride them wherever bicycles could go. But now they're legally a motorcycle. They have a lot of torque, and they're quiet, but the range is pretty shit, and top speed is low compared to an actual motorcycle, and they're expensive for what they are. With that said, I really hate gas-powered shit because they're loud and stinky. If you watch videos of groups riding Surrons, they can actually talk to each other normally. They aren't get smogged out every time they stop, and they don't have to start an engine before they can drive away.
>>532589822What I want is an e-bike that looks exactly like a normal bike(or close enough that it's not easy to tell) but doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Actually, what I want is a bike that looks like it isn't even worth $100 so that niggers don't get any ideas, and cops think I'm on a regular bicycle.
yeah, they cost like 10k, which nobody has. and have a short distance. cant carry groceries or anything beyond your immediate possessions. the list is endless really
>>532565800So do regular bikes
>>532594235You could find that searching Amazon for 5 seconds. I paid 500$ or so for my electric bike, don't know why people are paying multi thousands for one
>e-bikes are made with 0 products containing petrochemicals[X] Doubt
>>532594339To be fair, you can periodically get something like pic-related for $150. I bought one that looks almost exactly like it and with almost identical specs. Top speed with me on it is a little over 20 mph on flat ground(using a tracking app on my phone). Range is about 16-20 miles. That's less than one month of car insurance in many cases.
>>532565800What I dont get is why people aren't strapping two of them side by side to create a light weight electric buggy. Not your heavy ass clumsy mobility scooters or golf buggy, no. Something light weight, fast and nimble, that can be pedaled a bit to reduce battery discharge.Imagine that with a few cross bars you could create a comfy seat in the middle with a rack in the back to carry a good load of groceries. Or a another person for that matter/ Replace the front end with a single central steering. Fuck me, we aren't looking at rocket science here. A few bits chopped off and replaced with struts and cables.A few other minor modifications and you are good to go! Stable on the road. Would be great for older people or those who regularly want to cart a load of something. Could probably come with some sort of retractable rain protection.
>>532565800Saw an e-bike on the road on the way back from a supermarket the other day. That thing was fast as FUCK. Kept up with cars in a 70 km/h zone, and passed one when it became a 60 km/h zone (43.5 mph, 37.3 mph). Honestly quite impressive. Everyone moved away from him, sensing an impending slow point, but he just kept up and acted like a car. I put my car behind him when it became clear he wasn't going to hold up traffic. Personally, I wouldn't want to ride a fast pushbike on the roads in my area - lots of indians and other ethnics around. I'd be concerned one might try for a close overtake and clip me for izzat gain.
>>532565800The problem is they are slow...i dont give a fuck if youre bbcshd is unlocked to only 30mph...anything less than 3kW is shit. Slap a golden motor on a downhill bike and now were in usable territory.
>>532565951Get the dildo seat.
>>532565800The government can jam your motor remotely or even crash it if it is mossadmaxxed from the factory. Ice engines with old analog dials with no bluetooth/wifi connected ecus are wef proof.
crimes man here, i strongly encourage everyone to have at least one illegal unregistered electric e-moped. would you anons like to know how to scam the chinese out of their ebike conversion kits? go on ebay, look for multiple random named ebay accounts with thousands of feedback selling the same shit for similar prices all out of the same city. sometimes it's chino, CA. sometimes it's a city in Texas.IT MUST MEET THESE CRITERIA.get the item and then claim stuff was missing. fill it with junk bike parts and ship it back to them. you can try to sabotage the package so it falls apart in transit, but this doesn't even matter.the oriental menace are selling so much shit out of massive warehouses and dodging taxes, they don't even deal with it. they're probably too busy doing human trafficking, renting entire neighborhoods for grow houses, and spying on our military and infrastructure.e-bike batteries are expensive, overpriced, and dangerous, i suggest using large outdoor lawn equipment/power tool batteries. just get the conversion kits to start out, hub motor is fine. as you go up in power you WILL want to have someone fab and weld a little bit on your dropouts to reinforce them and lock them. also don't do this on a bike without disk brakes. you will die. i have almost died several times. women drivers need to be banned.
>>532565800>Problem?They are very expensive, the price of electricity goes up way more than gazoline over the last decade. The the biggest problems are, they require maintenance (a lot compared to a regular bike and if not done, breakage can be very expensive again), and batteries get bad quite fast, a new battery is around 700€. Also it doesn't shield you from elements.
>>532576197Subways are built according to each city, not the whole country you moron, those are trains. And yes, we have both subways and trains. And they work great, unlike New York subway.
not my pic. when i started messing around with this two years ago, no one was using ego batteries and doing photo+writeup guides on it. a few people on endless sphere made textposts.you will want batteries that are listed as 40v-60v. Kobalt, Ego, Ryobi, Toro, Husqvarna even. check their nominal rating. ie, Kobalt 40v is actually a 36v battery, which has a peak charge of 40v. I started out with a bunch of Kobalt 40v batteries in the 4ah and 6ah range. You can get batteries for these brands cheap used (but avoid old ones) or as part of clearance sales at Home Depot/Lowes (Best way to get Ego batteries at Lowes is when they change out inventory and sell something that comes with good sized batteries stupid cheap). DO NOT GET KNOCKOFF BATTERIES.The reason I like outdoor power batteries is their chargers AND the batteries are full of safety systems and features, unlike a no-name e-bike battery. a 36v 4ah battery obviously has less capacity than even a 10ah or 20ah 36v, but you can have a couple charged and ready to go, and swap out. 3D printed adapters are available so you get a positive and negative terminal coming from a plastic brick you slide the battery into. I used a dead charger (blown capacitor) so I had something that the battery already slid and locked into, and had the ideal blade contacts. Just had to remove the extraneous blades, gut the circuit board, and run power wires to the positive and negative slots. Basic hub motor and controller you got for free (i strongly suggest twist throttle) + 4ah or so battery + decent cheap bike (suggest full suspension) and you've got something that can very quietly and quickly nip around town and do various activities frowned on by the powers that be.oh yeah and hub motors are all the same in their size range. you'll see a hub motor being sold as 1000w, and then an option to pay more for 1500w, but it physically looks the same size. that's because it's the same motor.
Notice how the jewed masonic countries like UK and Australia are cracking down on them at the same time as oil shocks? Quite the cohencidence
>>532565800>doesn't shield you while bolting in front of a car from an unexpected direction. And nothing of value was lost.
>>532595952You could make a whole damn car with how easy it is to get a variety of motors these days. 4 hub motors could easily make a vehicle but the wheels would be heavy and it's unsprung weight so the bumps would be gnarly. 4 chain drive motors would work well but you'd have to add a lot of weight in batteries either way. Then you get to the point where you realize a gas motor and tank would be more practical. But yes you could make a while damn car if your fabrication skills were good enough. A fiberglass shell is actually very easy to make so it could even look sleek.
>>532567314>I take it you'll be recharging the battery with a hand-crankMost of the adult children who ride these just add to their elderly parents burden by charging them at " home".
>>532597352>>532597816range and battery life depend on speed. if you want to tear around at top speed at all times, you will get fuck all for range. if you use it as an assist to pedaling and an occasional power boost, you'll get a shocking amount of range while still exercising. i have improved my fitness dramatically by using my setup for any errand that didn't require going more than six miles + cargo capacity. your own pedal power will add the equivalent of 100w-200w btw. hub motors are also weak from the start unless they're massively overpowered (your first build won't be) so you should always help pedal a bit for extra battery life. people who say an e-bike will not get you in shape are clueless. just the overall act of balancing it is an upper body workout that you don't even realize you're doing.i can do 20mph for about a mile and a half before one of the smaller 4ah kobalt batteries starts to drain. on the next illegal street moto i'm building, it'll be doing significantly more power on a dual bank of ego 10ah batteries. (ego 56v max is nominally 52v and i had to order a special controller, 36v/48v/72v controllers don't usually play well with 52v) i have not noticed any lifecycle shortening on the kobalts, your ebike controller will have undervoltage protection.you will also run into all sorts of random bullshit the first time you do this. "endless sphere" is your friend for researching why whatever controller / display / throttle thing you got is causing error codes or won't work. failing that, uh, plebbit does exist.unregistered DIY e-motos are the new two wheeled outlaw transport system. i highly encourage anyone who has been waiting to get into this, to do it now.
>>532598099>unregistered DIY e-motos are the new two wheeled outlaw transport system>laughs in diesel powered bike (while you're on the side of the road with a dead battery)
>>532595952people do make these things, usually DIY, and they look like absolute fucking deathtraps. it would be fun to drive around my back pasture but i wouldn't want to go within a mile of Aubreigh and her 2019 Kia SUV packed with Jaydens and Kaydens. you're also going to be less able to weave through obstacles or physically jump a curb to avoid danger / the local constabulary. I also hate changing tubes & tires with only two to deal with, imagine four. FUCKspeaking of tubes & tires, if you aren't on a fat tire wheel bike running moped tires, run the fattest urban tires you can get, I like Maxxis Hookworms. you want a beefy bike to convert, pic related, not my exact bike but almost identical to the model I converted. had to hang a lot of shit off the sides because not a lot of mounting space but it works. Oh yeah and make sure to get a full face helmet. If you go down at 15-20mph your face & teeth will appreciate it.
>>532598479gay
>>532566974fucking hell man, imagine walking your dog and having to witness this of all things, lmao
>>532565800You still need oil to generate electricity. And how do you think your bike parts, like the tyres, are made?
>>532574123its really pathetic seeing bike riders during the dead of winter. see it in wyoming too. very poor people
>>532598613The key motive here is to provide a vehicle that is dirt cheap, entirely electric but can be pedal assisted, has 4 wheel stability on the road, provides some convenient carrying capacity and weather protection.I'm talking Mrs Jones doing her grocery shopping, Mrs Smith dropping off her kid at school, Mr Roberts the shop keeper going to work, the librarian, the office worker, the factory worker, etc, basically anyone who lives within a reasonable distance of amenities and workplace. Which I believe is still a large percentage of the population ( but varies heavily by country and area) I think their weekly travel would account for a significant percentage of national travel. Short mundane trips done on a daily basis. Where I live most people jump in their cars to do a 10 to 20 minute trip. Shopping, school. work. When I was biking I found it added very little time to a car trip becasue of the increased ease of just jumping on my bike, no parking hassle, and extra mobility.Yeah I know its a pipe dream becasue like you said the safety factor comes into play when you have them sharing the road with traffic. But my dream would be to replace half the roads with dedicated Bicycle and Quadracycles lanes which are entirely separated from regular vehicle traffic for most of the time. In this fantasy at least parts of these paths are covered with solar panels, offering energy generation as well as additional weather protection. This wouldn't work in many existing towns and cities without major rezoning, and a raft of changes to existing regulations and laws. However the long term benefits in places where it is feasible would be significant in pollution reduction, fossil fuel reduction, local government cost savings, and general public health.
>>532599800i'm sold. please become the Wayne Lambright of hybrid human/electric powered quadracycles
>>532565800>The bikes just cycle themselves to the shop from the factory that totally doesnt use any oil at any point

>>532565800Why not just get a regular mountain bike? Not as heavy and easier to move around. Also lets you get some exercise.
>>532571782No, it's multiculturalism.
>>532565800your groceries and other goods just get teleported into the store and don't need any transportation to get there?
>>532568310just get one. prices are dropping right now anyway because the normalfag market has been saturated so demand is downalthough if you're young, I don't reallly see the point
