>Artemis II Mission
Artemis II NASA's first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years. Launched on April 1, 2026, the four-person crew is currently on a ~10-day lunar flyby mission aboard the Orion spacecraft. This is the first time humans have traveled beyond low Earth orbit since Apollo 17 in 1972. The flight is testing systems for future lunar landings.

It held on for a few seconds, signal probably went through a crater.
>>
>>532568176
It’s not the cameras that are the problem it’s the signal bandwidth. Sending even low res video over this distance is a pain in the ass.

I had a colleague who did an REU collaborating with a project on the ISS, lots of HD video data. They got one sample video broadcast down to them over the space of about a day, but for the rest it was faster to wait another month for the astronauts to end their shift and physically transport the hard drives down on the Soyuz and fly the physical drives back to the states.
>>
>>532568449
i completely agree
since they plan on having a base on the moon they should really update the deep space network

Could be light fuckery as they approached to pass behind the moon from far away. The moon will also block out the sun for them soon.
The apollo guys orbited very close so it is a brand new perspective for astronauts anyway.

Buddy, your whole space program was based on stolen German tech and engineers. The moment your poached German scientist started dying from old age, is when you stopped going beyond LEO.
And do I need to remind you that your current space program is full of chinks and jeets, because amerimutts can't even do basic math?

NASA doesn't have anything worth stealing anymore, China has a significant lead both in space tech and vision.
