Question for non-Americans on here. If America initiates a draft, will you legitimately feel sorry for and have empathy for the American citizens that get drafted or will you just laugh?

I won't laugh, but to be honest they take much better care of their veterans than any other country. Just look at the boomers who got drafted in vietnam. The ones who survived went back to become successful politicians, artists or business owners. It's completely different from what a draft would look like in Europe. Not even our WW2 veterans got taken care of and many ended up in poverty and living standards didn't start improving until the mid 80s. Americans who serve have access to all sorts of perks made specifically for veterans. Mortgages, higher education, healthcare. Even the poor ones have a chance to become solid middle class.
