If the USA decides to leave NATO, what stops EU countries from just siding with China in a potential trade war?

Nothing. The orange kike is a retard.
>>
>>532635533
they already do. and then china will take advantage of them like they do everybody else and europe will just sit there and take it like they always do
>>
>>532635533

Nothing. A Europe that's decoupled from the US then has the ability to pursue its own foreign policy agendas as well. Of course yanks will cry foul when those agendas don't line up with those of the US.

We started a war of aggression and are demanding that they join in.

Lack of local competition for critical needs. Take the internet, for example, every country has a local equivalent of AWS for sensitive stuff but something like 80% of our infrastructure can be wiped out overnight.

China can do the shit China does because they have a Chinese Google handling their network, a Chinese General Electric making their water turbines, a Chinese Ford, a Chinese banking system and what have you so they could tank export restrictions if it came to it but we don't. Trump can send us back to the 90s with an executive order. Which might crash the US economy too but they'd get back up in two years and it'd take us thirty.
>>

>“We’ve lost the whole cloud. We have lost the internet, let’s be honest,” De Bruycker [director of the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB)] said earlier this week in an interview with the newspaper. “If I want my information 100% in the EU, keep on dreaming,” he added. “You’re setting an objective that is not realistic.”
it's not impossible but it's something not remotely implementable in the short to medium term
>>

>it's not impossible but it's something not remotely implementable in the short to medium term
It will of course take time. But it's not exactly difficult, just pricey. But we could just take the datacenters American companies have here in Europe and we've basically solved half the problem.
>director of the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium
I don't want to be the that kind of person, but sounds like another person in power who has lagged behind in terms of what's feasible or not.
It's like my uncle who has an education in informatic from 40 years ago but has never done anything practical nor keep track of the development apart from some abstract concepts, but he likes to act like he knows his stuff.
>>
>>532639096
Drink your high-fructose goyslurp, kikeslave.
>>
>>532639343
feasible, sure. viable is another question and probably not given how the EU operates. france will want to take charge but have germany pay for everything
>>
>>532635533
I think youre a decade late we already trade more with China than the U.S
>>
>>532639976
>viable is another question and probably not given how the EU operates
All the data centers would be in Sweden anyway.
>>
> side with China
> what little industry you have left is stripped away
> you get Chinese military equipment which is objectively inferior to what you could’ve made yourself or with America
> this is a win to Europeans
>>
>>532635533
EU is full of boring old politicians (a good thing), they just want stability. they aren't the ones to start a trade war.
>>
>>532640068
that probably makes the most sense for several reasons but jewpiter and his grandiose delusions would not be on board and idk about the germans
>>
>>532640279
We already have a lot of data centers here considering the population, but only a fraction of all the data centers in Europe. I think we have around 3000 or so. I think the US has a bit over 5000 last time I checked.

>>
>>532635533
Hot take:
Europe shouldn't set up trade barriers, regardless of how the US chose to tax our exports.
It will do nothing good the economies of European countries, the only purpose is to spite/punish the US, which is a noble goal in itself - but not at the cost of harming our own economies.

>>
>>532635533
china and EU are competitors

china just outcompeted EU in green energy lol

because siding with China is less profitable than trading with both sides
the play for EUrope is to just be neutral,
this asian shit is far away, why should we care?
our problem is the Ruskies in the east and the ooga boogas in the south
>>
>>532635533
They still need oil and LNG, it's not about trading for consumer goods at this point. Europe either buys from Saudi Arabia, the US, or Russia. You're not siding with China because they offer no essentials, liberalism is about as relevant as astrology when you start talking in terms of EROI and tariffs.

>>
>>532643116
The US is irrelevant in this it has ridiculous amounts of natural resources, we've all been through 10 more years of peak oil they do it to manipulate supply. The same for gas. Rare earths are also in the US, even Europe has massive deposits the only reason they're not mined because neither has an interest in mass producing solar panels. Oil and gas are the most relevant resources in the world right now, you need them for everything from steel to food.
>>
>>532643539
i take you're not voting for viktor
>>
>>532635533
Nothing. However, The EU is like a third of US trade and vice versa. So the likelihood of a trade war is very small. Unless they do something EXTREMELY stupid, like drop a nuke on Iran
>>
>>532643624
you're already tapping shale. the persian gulf has 140 years worth in proper wells. You should be leaving it there for manufacturing purposes.
