Why did Iran cuck out and open the Strait?
>>
>>532672867
Trump threatened to kill them all, down to the last man, woman and child.
>>
their economy is completely fucked and was even before the war. i don't know what's going to happen but they were already in hyperinflation so nothing good i'd venture
>>
>>532672867
iran probably wants to sell some oil and get some imports.
>>
>>532673005
But /pol/ kept insisting America was finished and Iran was totally winning. Why did they bend the knee? Trump didn’t even agree to anything beyond being willing to discuss peace.
>>
>>532672867
The US would have (probably) struck their oil and energy tonight, along with any remaining manufacturing facilities. The truth is Iran didn't have much negotiating power besides the strait. And even with the strait without those things I mentioned Iran would have probably completely collapsed.

Yea, bro literally threatened a holocaust and no one actually gave a fuck unless its jews. This entire war is just "double-standard" personified. Hopefully kikes get kicked down a peg for the foreseeable future.
>>
Iran was having major drinking water concerns previously. Due to gov corruption being funneled into mega dam projects that didn't actually look at the hydro environmental effects.
Likely with Iran destroying desalination plants in golf neighbors, that gave the US legitimacy to strike Iranian ones, destroying the bridges also destroys the ability to move water.
Fucked up if true- but based total war strategy if denying water was the US strategy.
No water would have been a major humanitarian issue, but when no one likes you already it's not like you've a lot to lose.

Because Trump basically completely surrendered to every Iranian demand (which is basically what they've wanted for 40 years and then some like tolls on the Hormussy) to stop an economic meltdown.

And if Donke or Bibe tries any monkey business, they can close again and the US and Israel don't have the cruise missiles, radars, or SAMs they had prior to the war.

"and subject to" is a conditional, meaning trump wont bomb them (in 2 weeks) IF the strait is opened. not "the strait it open now".

>>532678499
right, so they are still negotiating the opening of the strait, ergo, its not open. thanks for playing.

People are just retarded and think the grass is greener but it never really is.

The easiest way for them to "get something" from the straight is to implement a toll system. They need funds to rebuild their infrastructure. America paying reparations is an obvious non-starter. With the straight under Iran's (and Oman's I guess) management, they get a reliable income stream, at least for the ~5y it would take to build pipelines (though those are easy to destroy) and Trump can still sell it as the straight being "open".

>Trump just announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran and I need everyone to understand what actually happened here because the headlines are going to be hilariously wrong by morning.

>For five weeks, every foreign policy expert on earth has been saying Trump's deadlines are meaningless. He threatens, he extends, nothing happens. 'Classic bluff.'

>Except during every single extension, Iran quietly let more ships through the Strait of Hormuz. First Chinese ships. Then Indian ships. Then French, Japanese, Omani. The strait went from "fully closed, global crisis" to "selectively open, we're just doing a toll booth thing now"

>...and somehow nobody in mainstream media connected those dots.

>Tonight Trump posts: ceasefire, two weeks, BUT Iran has to fully open the strait. Not partially. Not the toll booth version.

>Fully.

>And Iran already sent a ten-point proposal and almost all the points are agreed to.

>The country with no navy, no Supreme Leader, no missile production, and no nuclear program just sent a ten-point proposal to negotiate. That's writing your terms of surrender in a nice font.

>Pakistan literally flew to Washington and asked Trump to please stop because they think they can close the deal. A nuclear-armed neighbor of Iran is begging the United States for two more weeks.

>But tomorrow morning you will read "TACO Trump Blinks on Iran Deadline" in seventeen different publications, all written by people who have been wrong about every deadline so far and see no reason to start being right now.

>The deadlines worked. They were always working.

>Go to sleep. The world is not ending tonight.

>I'm confused. Do people actually think we couldn't blow Iran off the map in a matter of minutes?

>>
>>532679359
It's asymmetric warfare dawg, and geography matters. US+Israel had been trying their hardest to degrade Iran's ability to launch the missiles and drones that keep the straight closed, but it's a massive country filled with mountains, underground launch sites, and decoys. In practice it's orders of magnitudes more difficult and expensive to sufficiently degrade Iran's capabilities than it is for Iran to effectively control the straight. So they have massive economic leverage.

As of April 2026, daily traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has plummeted to approximately 5–20 ships per day. This represents a decline of over 80–90% compared to typical peacetime levels.

Normal (Pre-War): 120–138 ships, ~50–60 tankers

As of April 2026, Iran is reportedly seeking payments of up to $2 million per vessel for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. These payments are part of a newly emerging, ad hoc toll system that Iran is attempting to formalize as regional conflict continues.

Key Details of the "Toll" System
Selective Access: Iran has signaled the strait is "open" primarily for vessels from non-hostile countries (e.g., China, India, Russia) that contact Iranian authorities first.

Payment Terms: While the $2 million figure is widely reported for large tankers, officials have indicated fees may vary based on ship type and cargo. Some reports suggest Iran is demanding these fees in Iranian rials or Chinese yuan.

Proposed Permanent Fees: A bill recently approved by the Iranian parliament's National Security Committee seeks to institutionalize these tolls to cover "war costs" and reconstruction.

Ceasefire Terms: Under a recent two-week ceasefire proposal, reports from the Associated Press via Times of Israel suggest Iran and Oman may both be permitted to charge fees, with Iran's share intended for postwar reconstruction.

Comparison to Other Waterways: Iranian officials have justified the fees by comparing them to the Suez Canal (approx. $700k–$1M+) and the Panama Canal (approx. $100k–$500k+).

Pretty dumb move if true. Allowing ships to enter means US will most definitely be moving assets in closer for later strikes.
>>
>>532682253
At current traffic levels of 15 to 22 ships per day, Iran's reported toll of $2 million per vessel generates approximately $913 million to $1.34 billion per month.

Monthly Estimated Revenue: $913 million – $1.34 billion
This is based on current severely reduced traffic levels during the ongoing conflict.
Current Annual Run-Rate: $11 billion – $16 billion
This reflects the income Iran would receive if the current daily average of ~15–22 ships remains constant for a year.

Theoretical "Full Traffic" Revenue: ~$8.3 billion per month ($100B+ annually)
Iranian state media and some analysts have projected annual revenues exceeding $100 billion.

Impact on GDP: At the theoretical $100 billion level, this revenue would represent over one-quarter of Iran's nominal GDP.

>>

Are you actually retarded? High-ranking generals have been fired or resigned over this. Do you know how to use a search engine? Harder to verify for obvious reasons, but word is several rank and file soldiers have been arrested for planning to kill their CO if ordered to fire on Iranians. The US military may have many retards, but a lot of them are the kind of blindly loyal to keep to their oath at any cost.
>>
>>532674197
>for a perioed of two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible via coordination with Iran's Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations
Before the ceasefire, this was already true for non-ZOG ships. All he's saying here is that ZOG can move its freighters during the ceasefire if they pay the toll. That's not the strait being "Open" like it was before the war. That's Iran now owning the strait. This same statement mentions the 10 points Iran gave America, which Trump has called "workable" and which the mediator (Pakistan) said that America agreed to as a basis for the negotiation. Those 10 points include the US paying reparations to Iran, closing all US bases in the ME, acknowledging Iran's authority over the straight, ending all sanctions against Iran and unfreezing assets, the list goes on. This isn't stuff the winner agrees to, retard.

The US outright agreed to it, and Pakistan is mediating. I don't know the full specifics, but I believe that means if either party reneges they have a certain level of responsibility. India is a shithole, but has numbers and a not insignificant military, including nuclear capabilities. They hate Pakistan fiercely and have for years. This is likely going to lead to nothing, but a situation involving so many nations can obviously get pretty choppy very quickly.

They agreed to a ceasefire to have talks, not to all of their points in principle. In fact Iran already dropped war reparations as a demand prior to the cease fire. While there is no "official" number, geopolitical analysts often categorize these types of pauses:
Probability of holding for the full 14 days: High (approx. 70-80%), as both sides need the tactical reset.
Probability of a permanent peace deal within 14 days: Low (approx. 10-15%), given the complexity of demands (withdrawal of U.S. forces, reparations, etc.).
Probability of war resuming after Day 14: Moderate to High (approx. 50-60%) unless a significant extension is signed by the middle of next week

It's not really a double standard, it's apples and oranges. Nobody minds when browns are exterminated, because it is objectively beneficial for everyone involved. To white people it is moral, justified, economically sound and makes their world a safer place. For browns it means less competition in the crab bucket.

Trust me, I'm brown and I'd not piss on my fellow shitskin if he caught fire.

>Why did Iran cuck out and open the Strait?

IRGC & Mullahs are corrupt. Decades of sanctions money laundering and banking with Eurotrash. Even Ahmadinejad said it repeatedly as President. Only they benefit from the sanctions regime staying in place, and the command structure was geriatric Boomers. Lifting sanctions and getting a not-bullshit currency = completely dominating Israel and Turkey given enough time on merit alone. That's what they couldn't have as competition in the region for their Pax Silica nonsense. America got fantastic faits accomplis to nope ot of Gulf States and Europe/NATO, and showed US voters what mask off least great ally is smoking, if OCT 7 wasn't enough.

It's an offramp and the only sane choice.
Iran gets no more sanctions and control of the strait, no more destruction.
USA gets the strait opened (which was open before they attacked) and an offramp.
The fact that Jews are absolutely assblasted with seethe is all you need to know.

Everybody lost something basically in one aspect or another. But Israel and America needed to end this faster than Iran needed to.
I think Israel's and America's new MO is to do these short wars and then ceasefire to replenish and plan the next phase of the amputation. It's honestly kind of working so far.
>>532674033
That sounds like bs. And even if Israel and the US did agree to those terms they're never going to keep them in the long run.

This is just your new cope talking point that Trump is somehow playing 4D chess against Israel. He's not. Never has and never will. Yeah some Israelis might pretend to be mad that Trump did a TACO or whatever. But that's it.

The cause of this war is South Korea.

South Korea is famous for Samsung and K-pop.

Because South Korea smuggled strategic materials into Iran, Iran was able to acquire weapons of mass destruction, including biological weapons.

This notion that Iran cucked out is fantasy and US propaganda. Think about it. Trump has never delivered on threats. Iran immediately list 10 requirements for a peace deal to last. Trumps objectives (or lack of them) (which have have floated at some point or another) include liberating Iranians = failed. Regime change = failed. Controlling the strait = failed. Destroying or capturing their uranium = failed. The only thing trump and his cronies have succeeded at is making millions from insider trading. So lets say you were going to carpet bomb them. Carpet bomb what exactly? Their infrastructure and make Iranians lives a misery? For what? What prior objective would that have lead to? Then Iranians preconditions for a lasting ceasefire is entirely in their favour like the russian deal was to ukraine? But you're somehow winning. If you're that retarded, if you're that retarded you lap up that orange retards nonsense on social media, then I can't help you. hey you you didn't answer the question.
iran dropped their preconditions for talks when the B-2s were an hour away.
how do you explain that?
>>
>>532708818
Most of those objectives you listed are made up. Iran has lost the capability to make nukes and their enrichment equipment is destroyed. That was the first priority. The IRGC needs to die in order for those nukes to stay gone. So far, the IRGC has lost almost all of their leadership structure and the alternate group who have been in talks with Trump have yet to take control of the IRGC. Hormuz doesn't matter. We are only working on it because it affects our allies, who should be helping us with their problems at minimum.

Iranians' lives were already miserable under the regime's rule. Anything that happens to the country will be pinned on them. They are already ratting out IRGC installations to CIA and Mossad and celebrated the death of the ayatollah and his son world wide. Iran's fucked. USA is going nowhere.

right, so just to recap, they disagreed with those 10 points SO MUCH, they uh...they uh, decided to totally capitulate on bombing them, but specifically allow them to keep bombing israel.

and they (iran) will keep the strait open, (terms and conditions apply), if countries such as israel stop bombing them, and lebanon. as long as israel stops bombing iran, and lebanon, the strait will open

so uh, israel, have you sto-oh. oh no. oh no nonononononononono. NO ISRAEL NO

has anyone checked how many boats have crossed the strai-
