America is about to ban even more semiconductor equipment to China. No more DUV lithography, no more photoresist, no more etching machines etc etc. China is going back into the stone age with this one move.

They will go from 5nm to 90nm overnight. Set back more than 20 years. China is legitimately done for. In the middle of the A.I revolution too. China's entire tech sector and economy is about to collapse. You can also expect electronic prices to skyrocket

not my problem

Does the United States make any of this equipment?
>>
>>532689540
China will just figure it out like they've figured out basically everything else, then make it cheaper.

>US then imports cheaper Chinese lithography machines instead of buying overpriced over engineered crap from their vassals
Is it 5D chess again?

China has 7nm chip fabs though sorry your embargoes won't work :)
>>

This lol, meanwhile our glorious United Statesian chip fabs don't even exist, we have to get Taiwan to do that shit for us and they can't do it without helium and natgas. Even with this new "ceasefire" (fucking lmao if you think that's going to hold for longer than like 2 days) Iran already blew up a shitton of infrastructure that'll take years to rebuild.

china has zero problems smuggling in "banned" technology.

Terafab is a planned semiconductor fabrication plant jointly developed by Tesla, xAI and parent company SpaceX.[1][2] The venture was announced by Elon Musk on 21 March 2026 and centers on the construction of a vertically integrated large-scale facility designed to produce more than one terawatt (one trillion watts) of artificial intelligence (AI) compute capacity per year. It aims to consolidate every stage of the semiconductor device production process, including chip design, lithography, fabrication, memory production, advanced packaging, and testing under one roof. Initial prototype fab operations are to be focused in Austin, Texas. The full scale Terafab is to be built at a yet to be determined location, with a total cost expected in the range of US$20−25 billion.[3][2][1][4]

They'll just crack down on rare metals again and murrica can't do anything about it.

Who will be paying to Japan and Netherlands for the lost profit from the banned sales to China. Still loving your whore PM?

China is binge-buying TEL's DRAM etchers in recent years. We expect CXMT to replace Samsung's role, promote the Micron vs. CXMT narrative (US has to invest even more in Micron Japan fabs for this).

>7nm chip fabs
They rely on ASML's ArFi a lot for that. Half of ASML and TEL revenues actually come from China. But to manufacture an advanced node like 7nm with ArFi, you need to do it with multi-patterning, this is yield hell where profitability gone for a foundry (still yummy for the above equipment makers).

>China bans exports of all rare earth to US and all their companies everywhere
>>
>>532689540

its too late to contain china. Its manufacturing , engineering and science have already surpassed the US. US lawmakers cant do fuck all about it and European companies are likely to choose co-operating with china over the us.

>they will....
We had this before with a variety of things. Everytime it's a short term win but then they come up with something proper and the USA has no more levers to pull. All they did was postpone development a little. At the same time the USA doesn't innovate, doesn't compete, because they don't have even capabilities. So once China, once again, catches up it's just the same as before, as the USA has no winning strategy. The US government even pays the AI bullshit that gobbles up all the tech and still produces nothing of value but instead drains the middle class and poor even more with expensive energy without anyone in WashDC caring because they're out of touch with the people and don't have working politics that actually solve problems or *gasp* prevent them by thinking ahead and having competent leadership.

AMAT has the largest share in deposition, CMP, treatment equipment. Lam has a very strong presence in NAND/Logic etchers. KLA with inspection tools (niche but very important).
