Since the 90s to today counter culture has been mainstream. South Park, MTV, cynical comedy, etc. absolutely no one likes superhero movies the only time I ever see them mentioned is if someone wants to show how good their taste is by saying they hate capeshit. And yes normies do this too. It's kind of wild to see people hallucinate that media in the past 30 years has been patriotic at all while agreeing with the popular majority of the propaganda the media machine produces
