You would need a long exposure time for the film to capture the light all the way over on earth. Next time you take a picture set the film speed to like 125 and point it at the sky with like a 2 minute shutter speed and you'll see what I mean

cameras used in space are set to capture very bright subjects (bright side of the earth, people in white space suits, etc.). The stars (and lights on the earth) are too dim to be exposed with these settings. If you wanted to expose the dim stars, the bright things would wash out and be overexposed. It comes down to camera settings. not some CG/ AI conspiracy.

Try adjusting your phone's brightness so you can see the screen in your house at night.
